How To Improve Efficiency With Business Intelligence

Reduce and manage operating costs and improve efficiency. Support better business decisions based on availability of real-time information

Transcription:

QAD Business Intelligence QAD Business Intelligence (QAD BI) unifies data from multiple sources across the enterprise and provides a complete solution that enables key enterprise decision makers to access, analyze, and share critical information. This allows better understanding of how the business is performing and improved decision making throughout the organization. QAD BI provides a complete business intelligence solution consisting of four major components: Data Warehouse and Transformer, Business Models, Cognos Analytics, and Dashboards. The Data Transformer extracts and transforms data from one or many data sources using flexible rules and stores this information in a data warehouse, allowing for optimized data access speeds, consistency in data elements and multiple currency valuations Optional Business Models provide a set of predefined reports and analysis templates plus 150 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that support multi-dimensional analysis against the data warehouse Analytical tools from Cognos are included, although QAD BI components can be adapted to work with other analytic toolsets Right out of the box, QAD BI integrates the wide capabilities of Cognos 8 BI. This includes dashboards, dynamic reports, analysis, event management and performance management Pre-defined dashboards and dynamic reports present key company performance areas in a single view QAD Enterprise Applications integrate with Cognos 8 BI, extending the workbench capabilities The Value of QAD Business Intelligence: Harmonizes information by transferring data from disparate systems into a unified and easily accessible common repository Improves strategic and tactical decision making through predefined, real-time, event-driven alerts and KPIs Increases control and accountability through improved data visibility Improves alignment of operational and tactical activities with the overall strategic goals of the company

QAD BI with Cognos 8 provides a single platform for performance management through analysis, adhoc query, metrics and sophisticated reporting Key Features of QAD Business Intelligence Dashboards Dashboards and Reporting, as part of the QAD Business Intelligence product, provide a variety of reports and dashboards within the standard applications in addition to native browse capabilities in the.net UI. Dashboards provide a grouping of multiple KPIs on one page, usually displayed as bar charts, line graphs, etc. Dashboards are interactive and allow users to filter data in an ad hoc fashion by clicking into graphs or grids of data.

Interviews with key stakeholders ensure that sales analysis, service performance, inventory monitoring, manufacturing performance, forecasting, vendor rating and financial control functional areas are covered. Data Output Review involves a review of outputs to determine if there is a need for formal production reports (printed invoices, work orders, purchase orders and labels), unstructured data associated with maintenance screens (specifications associated with purchase orders), ad hoc reports (informal inquiries with drill-down, drill-across, drill-through) and analytics (online analytical processing). Programming and Interface Development involves determining your requirements to include other data sources, enhancements to existing business models, new business models and customer-specific KPI's. The scope of this task varies based on the number of data sources, business models, KPI's, etc. Training addresses the QAD BI installation and demonstrates how to set up data extracts using the QAD BI Data Transformer, build the data model and develop the basic training in the Cognos application.
