CHOSEN TO KEEP THE FIRE BURNING The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out. LEVITICUS 6:13 BIBLE-BASED CHRIST-CENTERED HOLY SPIRIT-LED MISSION-BOUND FELLOWSHIP EVANGELISM DOCTRINE STEWARDSHIP 540 CAMERON M. ALEXANDER BLVD, NW ATLANTA, GA 30318 404.688.5679 WWW.ANTIOCHNORTH.ORG

A Message from the Pastor My Brothers and Sisters: Today, as we gather for worship and praise, we certainly have to applaud the youth of Antioch for the exemplary leadership that they have demonstrated in organizing programs and activities during the past quarter. With an emphasis on strengthening our Congregational Family s appreciation for the value that FELLOWSHIP adds to the vitality of the Church, their demonstration of fellowship has been spiritually contagious. With scripture reference found in 1 Peter 2:9, our young people envision themselves as members of the Chosen Generation... Chosen to Keep the Fire Burning. Our Youth Division has been awesome in achieving the goals set forth in Vision 2013 As pastor, my heart has been warmed during the past three months as I have watched and participated in the activities that our youth have spearheaded during the third quarter of Vision 2013. They have been exemplary and courageous in their commitment to Christian Service and Christian Education. I have been extremely pleased by their spirit of team work, by their tenaciousness and especially by the exuberance of excitement that they have shared in implementing their activities. Today, we are blessed to hear eight of Antioch s youth as they speak on their chosen themes. They are actively involved in youth ministry and dedicated to living for Christ regardless of the challenges and confrontations that they have to face as Christians in today s society. During our Worship Service, the Leadership torch will be passed by our Youth to the Family Division who will be responsible for organizing programs and activities from October through December with the expressed aim of strengthening our understanding of Baptist Doctrine. I invite every member of Antioch to become actively engaged in the activities of the Family Division. I want to thank every member who has given of their time, talents and tithes to support the youth of Antioch. It is my prayer that we will all be guided by that old African proverb that reminds us all that It takes a village to raise a child. Yours in God s service, Reverend Cameron M. Alexander

Thank you. To Pastor Alexander and our Antioch North family, Bow Ties and Pearls...Brunch with Pastor We thank you for your support and participation as we have demonstrated what it means to become involved in CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP. Today s society has for some reason correlated Christian Youth with the term BORING. However as we continue to learn and understand God s word, we realize that living a Christian life is not Boring. Through fellowship we have had fun and grown in our relationships with fellow Christians. We are extremely appreciative to our Pastor for including us in the 2013 Vision. This three-month journey has been filled with activities that have greatly enriched our lives and have certainly increased our understanding of what it means to be a member of the Chosen Generation; a generation that believes that we are Chosen to Praise Chosen to Worship Chosen to Lead! This year s journey has brought about another realization we were Chosen to keep the Fire Burning. Antioch Youth Keeping the Fire Burning...while away in school Khari Arnold, Howard University I m keeping the fire burning by constantly staying prayed up. I ve been blessed with a few opportunities this year, but that s the only way I ll be able to maintain everything, by staying prayed up and knowing I have a praying grandmother, family, and church home. Shannon Byrdsell, Louisiana State University Every day and throughout the day, I have conversations with God about small issues, big issues, and most importantly expressions of thanks for the blessings He gives to me on a constant basis. As I have been instructed to do, I am trying to unite with some other church where I can carry out the spirit of our church s covenant and the principles of God s word. Jillian Carroll, 8th Grade - Fay School Southborough, MA To keep the fire burning while I m away at boarding school, I think about Jesus because I know wherever I go he will always be there. Whether at school or home, he guides and watches over me. With God s motivation, I am able to finish each day strong supporting myself and my friends! I put my gifts and talents to good use because I know my purpose is bigger than me and should be used to help and inspire others. Elexis Neal, Tuskegee University I keep the fire burning by being in the Tuskegee University Golden Voices Concert Choir. I go to church each and every Sunday to sing and hear God s word and thank him for everything he has done. Ashley Phillips, Benedict College To keep the fire burning, I m carrying out the legacy of my grandfather and my grandmother who are always pushing me to go above and beyond the goals I ve set for myself. Christian Walker, University of West Georgia To keep the fire burning, I never forget where I come from and how I was raised in the church. Don t be afraid to tell people about your faith. I would rather be judged by GOD than by someone I just met. Don t forget to pray. Nile Oates, Howard University I keep the flame of my faith burning by staying in prayer throughout my ups and downs. I attend chapel on campus and read my Bible daily, in order to keep my relationship with God strong. Brandis Rencher, Tuskegee University To keep the fire burning while I m at School, I have been encouraging my peers to become active in a church in Tuskegee. I also have been gaining a more personal relationship with God in order to be a better me, for me. Adrianne Williams, Howard University With all the exciting and new things that come with college, any student can get lost or conform themselves to fit in with the crowd. The best thing to remember is where you come from, why you are in school and to Keep the Fire Burning on all the teachings you received from home and church. I keep the fire burning with my daily scriptures, needed calls to my mom, and surrounding myself with positive and like minded people.
