Its purpose is to afford students the opportunity to pre-plan their college degrees, and to facilitate the transfer process from the Associate in Science (A.S.) Computer Science, Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) Computer Information Systems, and A.A.S. Information Technology degree programs at JCC to the Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) Information Security & Assurance, B. Tech. Information Technology Applications Software Development, B. Tech. Information Technology Network Administration, and B. Tech. Information Technology Web Development degree programs at Alfred State College. GENERAL GUARANTEE OF ADMISSION AND STANDING Students who have graduated from JCC with the A.S. Computer Science, A.A.S. The following four pages depict how JCC coursework can fulfill the curricula requirements of each of the four B. Tech. programs offered at ASC. The maximum transferrable credits from JCC into each of those programs is shown. The following should be noted: * All upper-level courses (5000 and above) must be taken through Alfred State College * Alfred State College accepts transfer credits only, not the course grades. * Grades must be C or better to transfer. * General Education Electives need not be taken in the order indicated or those specific categories. * When a JCC course carries more credits than the equivalent ASC course, the excess will transfer as lower-level elective credit. * Students must hold a 2.5 average in courses taken within the major at Alfred State College to be permitted to take the internship. * General Education abbreviations: BC - Basic Communication MA - Math HUM - Humanities SS - Social Sciences NS - Natural Science WC - Western Civilization OWC - Other World Civilizations FA - Fine Arts FL - Foreign Language AH - American History The B. Tech. programs are offered through ASC as onsite programs only. As such, it will be necessary for matriculated JCC graduates to attend courses at ASC.
