I have been involved into a number of research fields such as fiscal policy, monetary policy and cultural economics. I have always privileged a Political Economy approach and empirical analysis (time series, dynamic panel data analysis). Main research interests: 1. economics of the arts and culture, with special reference to local governments cultural policy 2. Political Economy of government spending and debt; the effects of term limits, budget institutions and fiscal rules on government fiscal policy 3. indexes of Central Banks independence and empirical tests on the effects of pressure on Central Banks Other research interests: - managerial and economic aspects of tourism - fiscal policy and private consumption - fiscal and monetary policy in Italy since 1860 a historical perspective Research programmes: Since its beginning in 2009, I am head of the working group Congiuntur Osservatorio della Congiuntura Turistica nella Provincia di Brescia. Congiuntur is a University of Brescia project in co-operation with the Province of Brescia.
