About Reinhardt University History In 1883, Augustus Michael Reinhardt and John J.A. Sharp started a school in Waleska, Georgia, to offer an education to the children of the Civil War-ravaged area. Reinhardt traveled to Dalton, Georgia, to appear before the North Georgia Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church South to ask for their support in providing a teacher and preacher for the school. The church agreed and sent the Reverend James T. Linn to Reinhardt Academy, which had been named in honor of Augustus father, Lewis W. Reinhardt. For more than 125 years, Reinhardt University has focused on meeting student s needs. Reinhardt emphasizes personalized education, which is best provided in small classes by talented professors who truly care. A private, co-ed university, Reinhardt has always focused on being the way college should be. Associate of Science in Criminal Justice Offered Partially Online Associate of Science in Criminal Justice The Associate of Science (A.S) in Criminal Justice program, a part of the Public Safety Institute at Reinhardt University, offers you introductory career training in law enforcement, legal systems, local, state and federal government and homeland security. As a criminal justice student, you will develop the professional skills needed in investigations, detections and enforcement procedures. All courses are structured in convenient eight-week formats designed for working adults. Skilled and experienced professors with real-world experience teach the courses and work directly with you to expand your knowledge and improve your skills. The Criminal Justice program will prepare you to enter exciting occupations within the legal and justice systems, law enforcement, local, state, and federal agencies such as CIA, FBI, ATF, U.S. Customs, the Immigration and Naturalization Services and others. Admission How to Apply Admission Requirements Students who enroll in online degree programs or courses at Reinhardt must meet the following admission requirements: Submit the application for admission and indicate in which degree program and entrance term you are interested. Request official transcripts from all colleges, universities, technical schools, academies and military records you attended after you graduated from high school. If you are over the age of 21, we do not need your SAT/ACT scores. Once we receive all the required documentation, our staff will evaluate your application. Tuition Information Tuition and Fees $370 per credit hour $125 online course fee per course Tuition and fees are due approximately two weeks prior to the start of a semester. Correspondence mailed to admitted students will include specific dates regarding tuition and fees, which are also published in the academic calendar. We accept cash, check, money order, or credit card payments (VISA, MasterCard and American Express). Students can make monthly payments if enrolled with Tuition Management Systems prior to the start of classes. Tuition Reimbursement If you are employee of a large corporation and/or your field of study relates to a current or future position in the company, you may qualify for tuition reimbursement. The tuition reimbursement program is usually administered through the human resources department by your employer or it is part of an employee s benefits package. If you have lived in Georgia for 12 months prior to the term you begin classes, you may be eligible. Federal Loans and Grants The federal government has many financial aid programs. FAQs 1) How do I prepare for online courses? For your convenience, we offer a student training presentation that provides instructions on taking an online course. The presentation is available upon request. 2) How will I access my online course? Enrolled students will receive a login ID and password. Upon entering the ID and password in the login window, students will be able to access their online class, view course information or retrieve their academic records. 3) Will I have face-to-face meetings with my professor? Online courses are delivered entirely through the Internet. However, students can visit the campus and meet with professors during office hours if desired. 4) Will I have access to library resources? Our library resources and services are available to all faculty and students wherever the programs or courses are located and however they are delivered. 5) How do I get help if I cannot access my online course? Reinhardt provides all students with a 24/7 Help Center. Contact information for the Help Desk will be provided upon enrollment.
