2 Introduction This compilation started as a personal project, I wanted to make an inventory of recent publications in the field of Film Studies. Thanks to the digital magazine E-view this personal project came available worldwide. I am aware of the existence of many comparable efforts, made with the same intentions, which are sometimes more extensive. In Appendix One you can find some fine examples of on-line bibliographies. But, to put it simple, I think my inventory is more use full. In Part One I intent to give a complete overview of the basic library of Film Studies, in Part Two I give a selection of relevant recent publications of film history, film theory and the neighbour fields of research. This overview and this selection is open for discussion, I would be happy to receive your comments or suggestions: bosma@fhk.eur.nl Part 1: The basic library of film studies Bibliographies of film research and indexes of film data Intention: to select the essential books microfiche cd rom - digital databank Armour, R. Appendix 1: Internet sources for Film Studies The internet offers a lot of opportunities and possibilities: One can fish for data in the big digital ocean, through search machines. One can explore a particular area of the internet through portals. One can visit the office, or house or shop of members of the big digital neighbourhood, through their personal websites. And one can browse through the files of specialized journals: some of them are so generous to offer you easy access to their complete volumes for free, other journals are more exclusive and you ll need a password or a credit card.
