Cloud Desktop Types Professional Our most popular Cloud Desktop is for typical users running common Windows-based productivity applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Acrobat, Internet Explorer, QuickBooks and others. Professional users consume up to 750MB of memory for user-specific applications. Power Power users will run many of the same common business applications above, along with heavier business applications such as Microsoft Dynamics, Solomon, SAP and others that require additional resources. Power users consume above 750MB of memory for user-specific applications. Custom Configurations Custom configurations can be tailored to specific application sets, from low-use situations to the most demanding application sets. How utilization is measured With a standalone desktop or traditional VDI solution, one must purchase the maximum amount of resources they would ever need for both the applications and system-related resources. With OS33 Cloud Desktop, we only account for the amount of memory used by user specific applications in a given calendar month, and discard top 5% of utilization to account for occasional spikes. Memory used by the Windows operating system and other system/shared processes are not counted towards utilization. Below is an example of a power user consistently using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 1,000.00 900.00 800.00 700.00 600.00 500.00 400.00 300.00 200.00 100.00 0.00 12/20/2013 12/21/2013 12/22/2013 12/23/2013 12/24/2013 12/20/2013 12/25/2013 12/26/2013 12/27/2013 12/28/2013 12/29/2013 12/30/2013 12/31/2013 1/1/2013 1/2/2013 1/3/2013 1/4/2013 1/5/2013 1/6/2013 1/7/2013 Actual memory utilization 95th percentile Business runs on OS33 www.externalit.com 4

To determine the right Cloud Desktop for a user, on a Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 machine with a comparable set of applications open and running, use the Task Manager to calculate the total memory used by user processes. For Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012, open the Users tab in the Task Manager and look at the memory column for a specific user. We recommend adding 25% as a buffer. If the total number is under 750MB, choose Professional, otherwise go with Power. Business runs on OS33 www.externalit.com 5
