BIBLICAL EVANGELISM Romans 10:8-17
Romans 10:8-13 (KJV) 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 10:14-17 (KJV) 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Evangelism: The communication of the Gospel from Saved people to lost people 1 Corinthians 1:21 (KJV) 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. The Gospel of Jesus Christ must be communicated: - Clearly it must be understandable - Deliberately, intentionally it will not happen by accident - Precisely the whole truth must be included, and certain words (ie: trust, receive) will keep the Christian on the track - Distinctly the truth cannot be blended with other notions of what constitutes the Gospel - Correctly preaching
Bible definition of man : Genesis 1:27 (KJV) 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Therefore, the term man is a generic term that refers to both male and female humans.
1 Corinthians 2:9-13 (KJV) 9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
Acts 8:26-29 (KJV) 26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. 27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, 28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet. 29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
Acts 8:30-31 (KJV) 30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? 31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him. Acts 8:35 (KJV) 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
1 Corinthians 3:5-9 (KJV) 5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? 6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. 8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. 9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

STEPHEN STONED IN ACTS 7 Was he faithful? Did he tell the truth? What he accepted or rejected? Is he to blame for not properly captivating his target audience?
1 Corinthians 3:5-9 (KJV) 5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? 6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. 8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. 9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
Matthew 13:38 The field is the world Christians must tend the vineyard - Do not harvest un-ripened fruit - Leave the vineyard in good shape for harvest time
It was all worth it, as long as at least one got saved Is the WRONG attitude! - Proper evangelism is worth it even if no one get s saved - The wrong approach can inoculate hearers against a future response
1 Thessalonians 1:6-9 (KJV) 6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: 7 So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. 8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. 9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
Romans 10:17 (KJV) 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 12:3 (KJV) 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. 2 Thessalonians 3:2 (KJV) 2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
Romans 2:4 (KJV) 4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? Acts 11:18 (KJV) 18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.
The way God deals with lost people during the church age is by sending saved people in their direction with the most valuable news they ve ever heard. There is no spooky spiritual transaction for which we are ever told to wait. Our job is to TELL the Gospel. That s the only spiritual transaction over which we have any bearing.
Carey: William Carey The Father of Modern Missions "Gentlemen, is it not our duty--the duty of all Christians--to spread the Gospel to all the world? Reply: "Young man, sit down; when God pleases to convert the heathen, he will do it without your aid and mine."
