34 A Biblical Prescription For Overcoming Bitterness

35 1. Stop JUSTIFYING it and CALL it what it is

37 1 John 1 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

38 2. REPENT of the sin of failing to receive and apply the GRACE God gave to you to keep you from getting bitter.

39 Hebrews Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God

40 3. HUMBLE yourself before the Lord, because humility is His pipeline to MORE GRACE.

41 James 4 6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

42 4. APPLY the grace He gives you by making a conscious and willful decision to allow the Lord to RID you of your bitterness and its resulting negative characteristics.

43 Ephesians 4 31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

44 5. FORGIVE the person to whom your bitterness was directed with the same FORGIVENESS God granted you because of Christ.

45 Ephesians 4 32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
