Taught over Four years of parttime study, it combines theoretical insights from various therapeutic modalities with practical experience gained in a range of addiction counseling settings. Assessment of courses: All courses are assessed via: Written examination Course work Essay questions Case study dissertation Mode of Study: Part time 4 years Entrance requirements: A personal statement outlining your reasons for wanting to study addiction counseling (please attach this to your application). A previous university level degree. We are willing to accept candidates who have professional qualifications in any subject matter but MUST have a strong desire to become a counselor. In recovery of any type of addiction for at least TWO years and currently working (minimum step 8) or have completed a 12 step program Provide a copy of your university degree and your personal ID You need to demonstrate an ability to study at postgraduate level through completion of a face to face interview 2 references confirming aptitude to study at postgraduate level and appropriateness for counseling addiction training. English language requirements (IELTS 6.5+ or equivalent) apply to students whose first language is not English or whose first degree was not taught in English Entry into further levels requires successful completion of a written examination as well course work at a 50% pass mark minimum. Additional costs: Students on the certificate in Addiction Counseling are required to undertake a minimum of 50 hours of personal therapy. Therapy is provided in the center for the cost of 200le per session Students are also required to attend 150 hours of professional supervision in relation to their placement practice. Group supervision is offered at the center for the cost of 100le per group. Attendance of supervision is mandatory.
