Results That Matter A track record of success Reed Business Information Tailored Programme The Challenge RBI required a fully tailored technical training programme for its new intake of IT graduates. The Solution FDM provided a fully tailored learning and development service, which included: Training needs analysis Object orientation training SQL server C# programming The programme incorporated classroom-based training, self study, presentations and workshops that were all fully managed by FDM. 360 degree feedback was provided to each learner and manager, allowing the company to recognise individual strengths. The Outcome The events allowed the graduates to become fully operational in their new roles within a short period of time. RBI was delighted with the way the programme was delivered and FDM has now provided this course to RBI for the last three years.
Royal Bank of Scotland Graduate C++ Programme The Challenge RBS required a C++ graduate training programme to supplement project teams across the business. The Solution RBS engaged FDM to provide an eight week C++ learning and development programme for selected graduates. As well as the technical training, the graduates also completed the foundation qualification Investment Operations Certificate at FDM s London Academy. Modules in this programme included: Core C++ language constructs Object-oriented primer Object-oriented programming in C++ C++ libraries and techniques Windows programming in C++ Final project and assessment The graduates undertook classroom events, lab exercises, a large final project and a BrainBench assessment before being approved by RBS. The RBS sponsors were kept up-to-date on each individual s progress via a detailed weekly development report. The Outcome The graduates were assigned to development teams within the Equities Division to support and develop their trading products.
