LA UNIDAD LATINA FOUNDATION, INC., a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization established in 1999, exists to: Award scholarships ranging from $500 to $1000 to scholars pursuing academic excellence in higher education Fund community programs and student organizations dedicated to the civic empowerment in the Latino community La Unidad Latina Foundation is unequivocally committed to equal opportunity. Application Criteria Scholarships are available on a competitive basis to undergraduate four-year college, and graduate students who meet the following criteria and abide by the following requirements. Minimum cumulative GPA above 2.80 out of a 4.0 GPA Scale. Cumulative GPAs below 2.80 do not qualify for a scholarship. Currently enrolled in an eligible bachelor s or master s degree program at an accredited four-year college or university. Eligible Degrees: all Bachelor degrees and Master of Arts, Master of Science, Master of Public Administration/Policy, Master of Social Work, Master of Education, Master of Divinity and Doctor of Philosophy. Completed at least one full-time year of study for undergraduate applicants, and at least one full-time semester of study for graduate applicants. Must reside in the United States. Required Documentation Unofficial copy of University transcript. If selected as a finalist, you will be required to submit an official University-issued transcript. Letter of recommendation from university administrator/faculty or community leader demonstrating student leadership and commitment to civic service. (200-350 words) Only when requested by LULF: Official university-issued academic transcript(s) required and included in application. Graduate students are required to submit graduate and undergraduate transcripts.
Application Submission Process Applications are only accepted during the application period Applications may be submitted online through LULFoundation.org or mailed to: La Unidad Latina Foundation, 132 East 43rd Street, # 358, New York, NY 10017 o Mailed applications must be postmarked by the deadline o Do not send applications by registered mail or another delivery service that requires a signature, as we are sometimes unavailable to sign for deliveries Transcript Submittal o You will be notified when to submit an official transcript o We accept unofficial copies of transcripts both electronically and by mail. Send electronic transcripts to info@lulfoundation.org. PART III Send an unofficial copy of your university-issued copy of your transcript to La Unidad Latina Foundation using Parchment (Parchment.com) or National Student Clearinghouse. Graduate student applicants are required to submit unofficial graduate and undergraduate transcripts. If selected as a finalist, you will be required to submit an official University-issued transcript. PART IV Please print, sign and either mail or upload the Certification page as part of your application. You may take a picture of the certification page and upload as an image file (.jpg,.jpeg, etc.)
