REVIEW Fine Art & Antiques Auction Sales Auction Sales from 8 to 13 November 2006 Auctions Old Master Paitings Modern Art Swiss Art Works on Paper Sculptures Works of Art Furniture Antiquities and Non-European Art Jewellery Wristwatches and Pocketwatches Galerie Fischer - as the oldest Swiss Fine Art Auctioneer (founded 1907) and one of the leading Auction Houses in Europe - is on the right way to the next year's 100 year anniversary. Galerie Fischer realised in the last years and especially in the November Sale extraordinary adjunctions. So we sold this June for example LUCAS CRANACH the elder (Kronach 1472-1553 Weimar), The Madonna with the grapes (and standing Child), signed upper right (with the lying snake with the wings), dated 1534, oil on limewood, 50 x 33,5 cm (estimate: CHF 800'000/1'000'000, EUR 548'000/640'000, USD 646'000/808'000; lot no. 1005 Auction Sale June 2006) for CHF 1,258 Mio. (EUR 811'612, USD 1'006'400, Buyers Premium included). The Bronze, cult vessel in the shape of a victime cattle, China, probably first Centuries after BC, was sold in this Auction Sale November 2006 for CHF 574'200 (buyer's premium included). With this adjunction Galerie Fischer set the auction record for an asian object sold by a Swiss Auction House. Also in the other departments there was a strong bidding from both sides of the Atlantic, driven up by significant Russian and Asian participation. These very good results are based on connoisseurship, reasonable market estimates, "market-fresh" objects, high responsibility for the objects and clients and on an international network of collectors, museums, art experts and art dealers. To meet the demand of asian clients Galerie Fischer will also next year participate at the Asia International Arts & Antiques Fair in HongKong.
