2 Historical design classics are reinterpreted in a new contemporary collection. Peter Ghyczy s new contemporary collection contains his most recent designs combined with several of his internationally renowned design classics. A collection comprising clean lines, minimalistic shapes and a warm, timeless look. His years of expertise in constructing, his pursuit of balance, originality and craftsmanship have once again led him to develop exclusive design furniture that, with its lasting value, will make anyone feel at home. The objects can be easily combined with any interior style and are therefore focused on a large target audience.

4 PETER GHYCZY the creator Peter Ghyczy is one of the remarkable personalities who in the 60s lifted the design of furniture to a whole new level. An avantgarde artist who is not just the inventor of new product forms, but also in designing from an industrial background. As an inventor and manufacturer, he has built up a line of products that bears his unmistakable signature. Peter Ghyczy (*1940 Budapest) began his career at the end of the 60s as general director of the legendary Design Centre of the Reuter company. The iconic Garden Egg chair originates from this time. A chair enjoying a worldwide cult status which has been incorporated in the collections of various museums such as the Vitra design museum and the Victoria and Albert museum. Felix GHYCZY art director Several years ago I took over my father s company. The value and standards that he integrated while building up this family-run business are personally safeguarded and continued by myself. I strive to provide an ultimate service in which the customer s wishes, with respect to customisation, can be realised. I personally select the best materials and ensure that each product can be made into a perfect, special and unique object. An entirely personalised design object for our customers, with reliable and fast service. FELIX GHYCZY 6 PETER GHYCZY From 1971 onward he developed his designs in his own production facilities as an independent entrepreneur. In 1974 he broke through with the successful models T09 and T14. Many of his designs are based on innovations in the technical industry combined with an aesthetically refined touch. The introduction of the Fischer plug resulted in the development of design R03. One of Peter Ghyczy s most important discoveries is the clamping technique, which was facilitated by the improved float glass manufacturing techniques. 7 Peter Ghyczy has always been an individualist and always kept a sceptical distance from the world of design. His reserved personality led him, as a designer, to never feel responsible for his spectacular impact on the world of design. FELIX GHYCZY A designer with an unmistakable signature. 6 THE EXPERT designer and manufacturer MATERIALS Only the very best of materials are personally selected and checked by Felix Ghyczy for the furniture. The world s best stainless steel is shipped from Finland and the wood is transported from the Black Forest, Germany. Craftsmanship and industry merge together in their Design Centre in the Netherlands. Traditional craftsmanship techniques are combined with modern tools. High quality materials and assembly guarantee a product with a long life. SUSTAINABLE Ghyczy manufactures products in an environmentally friendly manner. Only materials with known origins, often from local sources, are used. We minimize the use of material. The design asks for eternal life and objects can be passed on to the next generation, but when not, will gracefully return to earth. All materials can easily be separated and used to re-create a new, lasting design object. 10 NATURAL FINISH All materials are solid and of high quality. The finishing stages and the craftsmanship techniques which are applied retain the authentic character of the materials. Over time the materials will age and acquire a certain patina, creating the unique natural character of the interior object. 11 BALANCE In each design, the materials and the finishings are aligned to one another. The shape and dimensions are perfectly proportioned, creating a peaceful balance. The products stand out because of their simplicity and elegance. CUSTOM MADE Ghyczy exclusively manufactures its products on request. Each design in the entire collection can be customised to fit the individual user, realising an ideal styling for the interior. Not just the height and dimensions can be altered, but the materials are interchangeable, such as stainless steel or brass, and the finishing, such as matt brushed, mirror polished or patinated. Craftsmanship and industry merge together.

Small pores and irregularities are characteristic of casting. These parts are solid. Those parts that are polished are not varnished. Even intensive rubbing can do no damage. Fingerprints and acidic liquids such as wine and beer can cause stains. We use high quality stainless steel from Scandinavia with a high nickel and chromium content. The knots or cracks are natural characteristics and no errors or structural defects. Each piece of wood is different in structure, texture and color shade. This gives each object a unique character.
