How about hiring a professional editor to look at your book in order to make it the best it can be? Manuscript/Editing Evaluation: ($250, due up front) Submit your typed manuscript and a professional editor will read through it, get a general impression, make critical comments about tone, perspective, character development, sentence structure, spelling, grammar, punctuation and flow, edit 5-8 pages and recommend what type of editing services might be necessary. Coaching / Consulting: ($50 an hour - $50 deposit due) Back and forth conversation with author, offering personalized support for the writing process. The consulting can be done in person, by phone or by email. It will take the editor roughly two weeks to evaluate the manuscript and make comments. The editor will provide a quote for additional editing services if they are required. Content Editing/Copy Editing: ($45 an hour - $135 deposit due) Content editing: the editor will analyze the structure of the manuscript and offer ideas for trimming, reorganizing, or adding material Copy editing: the editor will focus on grammar and sentence structure, with light proofing included. Our professional editors can content copy edit at the pace of 5-7 pages an hour. Proofreading ($35 an hour - $105 up front) Our editors can proofread at the pace of 10-12 pages an hour.
