6 Living and Working in Lisbon Spread across steep hillsides that overlook the Rio Tejo, Lisbon offers all the delights you would expect of Portugal s star attraction, yet with half the fuss of other European capitals. Gothic cathedrals, majestic monasteries and quaint museums are all part of the colorful cityscape, but the real delights of discovery lie in wandering the narrow lanes of Lisbon s lovely backstreets. As bright yellow trams wind their way through curvy tree-lined streets, Lisboetas stroll through the old quarters, much as they ve done for centuries. Village-life gossip in old Alfama is exchanged at the public baths or over fresh bread and wine at tiny patio restaurants as fadistas (proponents of fado, Portugal s traditional melancholic singing) perform in the background. Meanwhile, in other parts of town, visitors and locals chase the ghosts of Pessoa in warmly lit 1930s-era cafés or walk along the seaside that once saw the celebrated return of Vasco da Gama. Yet, while history is very much alive in centuries-old Lisbon, its spirit is undeniably youthful. In the hilltop district of Bairro Alto, dozens of restaurants and bars line the narrow streets, with jazz, reggae, electronic and fado filling the air and revelers partying until dawn. Nightclubs scattered all over town make fine use of old spaces, whether on riverside docks or tucked away in 18th-century mansions. The Lisbon experience encompasses so many things, from enjoying a fresh pastry and bica (espresso coffee) on a petite leafy plaza to window-shopping in elegant Chiado. It s mingling with Lisboetas at a neighborhood festival or watching the sunset from the old Moorish castle. Just outside Lisbon, there s more to explore: the magical setting of Sintra, glorious beaches and traditional fishing villages. 7 Special benefits for our international Employees Initial Flight Refund Teleperformance refunds your initial flight to Portugal. Therefore we will provide a budget via email, within you are free to book your flight. We recommend Momondo for cheap flights to Portugal. You will be asked to hand in your booking confirmation / receipt to eventually receive the refund. Tickets are refunded after nine months of successful integration, counting from contract signature. To request your refund contact our employee support at that time and your flight will be refunded during the next possible salary process. Yearly Complementary Flight After 12 months of successful integration, counting from contract signature, Teleperformance offers a complimentary two-way airplane ticket to your home country (within the EU). This offer is valid after every cycle of 12 months, for as long as you work with us, to allow you to visit your family and friends in your home country at least once per year. For this flight also, prior, written approval of the budget is required, in this case from your Assistant Contact Center Manager (ACM). Accommodation in Lisbon Teleperformance offers you the option of living in a room in one of our company-rented apartments in Lisbon. The apartments are fully equipped and furnished, including kitchen, living room with cable TV and wireless internet. All expenses are paid for by Teleperformance (water, gas, electricity, cable TV, internet - within the limits of responsible use). Should you choose to stay in one of our rooms, a small fee will be deducted from your monthly salary. (Please consult the Compensation Package with room for more details.) (Access to this option is limited to applicants who are currently living at more than 100km from Lisbon. The rooms are only for our employees and no pets are allowed.) 9 Airport Pick-up If you receive a written confirmation that you have been selected, please book your flight as soon as possible, within the budget approved by Teleperformance. We ask you to keep the receipt for the refund and send us a copy of your flight confirmation via email, in order to arrange your pick-up at Lisbon Airport. Our colleagues from the Welcome Support Team will be welcoming you at your arrival. You will be informed in advance about the meeting point. Please don t wander around the airport as it will be more difficult to find you. A training agreement is signed on the first day. The training is compensated proportionally with 50% of the base salary for those who successfully complete it and start working with us, with the first payment scheduled for one week after contract signature. Therefore please be aware that you need a sufficient budget for the first weeks of your stay in Lisbon. Contract Signature A fixed-term employment contract is signed on the first day of work after the training has been successfully completed. It has an initial term of six months, and is subsequently automatically renewed for periods of 10 months. Monthly deductions are relatively low, compared to other European countries (2013): 11% Social Security (access to national health scheme, pension and unemployment benefits) 8% - 15% income tax (IRS) in most cases, depending on wage and fiscal situation (most of lunch allowance is not taxed)

A recent, clean criminal record, of which we need the original; 4. In case you do not possess EU nationality, a valid work permit / authorization of residence allowing you to work in Portugal; 5. A Portuguese bank account and Tax number (NIF), which we can help you with once you arrive, should you not yet have one. 6. Pay-slip of your last employer (or other valid proof of last employment) Please note that hiring decisions remain pending until these documents are provided. Failure to provide these documents will result in being excluded from the selection process.
