Within PE pupils will be encouraged to reflect on their performance and contribution to different situations. A variety of different roles will be examined and explored allowing pupils to have different perceptions and experiences from which to draw on. sense of enjoyment and fascination in learning about themselves, others and the world around them. The aim of the PE department is to ensure pupils develop a life-long love of sport and to continue in sport once they leave compulsory education. Continuing in sport may be through playing, umpiring, coaching or volunteering. use of imagination and creativity in their learning willingness to reflect on their experiences. Within PE pupils are encourage to develop as decision makers and take responsibility for their actions and decisions. Pupils are then encouraged to reflect on their successes and areas that can be developed in the future.

At the heart of the curriculum is the development of the individual, within sport and as a well-rounded individual. Cultural Definition: Appreciate cultural influences; appreciate the role of Britain's parliamentary system; participate in culture opportunities; understand, accept, respect and celebrate diversity. Pupils cultural development is shown by their: understanding and appreciation of the wide range of cultural influences that have shaped their own heritage and those of others understanding and appreciation of the range of different cultures within school and further afield as an essential element of their preparation for life in modern Britain knowledge of Britain s democratic parliamentary system and its central role in shaping our history and values, and in continuing to develop Britain willingness to participate in and respond positively to artistic, musical, sporting and cultural opportunities. Within PE this can be supported by awareness of local, regional, National and International success both within the school community and for the National teams in competition.
