Managed Services The world is becoming smaller, consumers are demanding more value and companies have to adapt to new challenging environments quickly and effectively. Any company to survive and prosper in today s environment must have the right resources to compete and concentrate on its core function. Consumers do not expect a car manufacturer to excel in technology. They just want a good quality, reliable car and bang for their buck. Car manufacturers have to concentrate on the car manufacturing process rather than creating best technology service for the car Key Benefits of Managed Services Increased level of support and availability of key IT resources Provides access to enhanced skill base Easy management of resources Flexibly to expand or reduce recourses based on project requirements Makes it better to adapt to changing Business conditions Enables the IT group to focus on core business and strategic initiates manufacturing and service process. Many companies find it difficult and expensive to keep up with new technology, hire and retain highly talented resources and achieve the service level of their IT department required for superior service and a competitive advantage. These companies may simply prefer to devote their resources to the core business rather than ongoing IT management. Managed Services bridges the gap by providing companies access to leading technologies and management expertise without requiring an investment and they allow companies to concentrate on their core businesses. What are Managed Services? When a company subscribes to managed services, a service provider manages a portion or all of their IT needs. Some managed services are onsite, some are offshore and some are combination. For companies, managed services provide highly skilled resources, hard to find or retain technical resources, a team for backup support and service levels not achievable otherwise. Managed services enable companies to use their core IT staff to concentrate on strategic activities instead of IT support or development activities. Managed services often include enterprise level software services and hardware and networking services. The service provides highly experienced technical experts to focus exclusively on services and support that their customers need to meet their business requirements. Companies have the option to out task some or all of their IT needs and retain control of the rest. 2
