Steps for Most Health Programs 1. Apply to GNTC through Academic Affairs List the final program you intend to enter You are placed in one of the following to qualify for financial aid : Healthcare Assistant (HA21) for diploma programs Health Sciences (HS21) for degree programs Technical Communications* (TC31) Attend Health Programs Orientation (Generally used on Walker County Campus) for degree programs. 2. Start Preoccupational Classes 3. View Health Programs General Orientation 4. Once Completed: complete eligibility request during last term of pre-occupational 5. Follow instructions following review of eligibility request concerning taking the PSB exam. 6. Begin Occupational courses when notified 8

All Health Programs Pre-requisite classes can be taken: Any GNTC Campus where offered Any accredited College Day or Evening Online courses may be available It is very important to register during early registration for best selection! Some classes fill very quickly! 10
All GNTC Programs Accept Applications year round Pre-Occupational courses available most academic terms After Pre-Occupational classes are completed the student is eligible to submit eligibility request to begin competitive admissions process. Entry into all Health programs (except where noted) is based on competitive admissions 11
Competitive Admissions 12 All additions to health programs eligibility pool fall under competitive admissions*. GPA for Pre-occupational courses will count 65% of total score. This is very important! Some programs have a large pool and competition is rigorous! The Psychological Services Bureau Health Occupations Aptitude Examination (PSB) will count 35% of total score There is a fee to take the PSB HOPE does not cover this fee *Except where noted- LPN and MA use 50% for both GPA and PSB.
Competitive Admissions Continued On FCC, Health Administration office (706-295-6882) will administer Competitive Admissions On other campuses contact program faculty for directions During the term in which you will complete your final pre-occupational classes you must complete an Eligibility Pool Request Form and submit it to Health Programs Administration office on your campus ( or as directed by program faculty) Once your transcript has been reviewed you will be given instructions to schedule the PSB, or to contact Health Administration to correct any problems the transcript review has revealed 13
Competitive Admissions Continued All pre-occupational courses must be completed at least one semester before occupational courses begin If occupational courses begin in the Fall, you must complete pre-occupational courses by the end of Spring semester During the Summer semester your transcript will be reviewed; you will take the PSB and your GPA will be calculated Once this is complete, Health Administration office will notify those who qualify for entry and a set number of alternates 14
