The Social Sciences Libraries network The Statistical Sciences library belongs to the Social Sciences Libraries network At Padova University a network of libraries is named POLO Polo di Scienze Sociali is the network of the libraries of the Social Sciences Area

What can you do in a library? Study Search a wide variety of online academic resources (catalogues, databases, e.journals, etc) Borrow books Photocopy part of the library materials in accordance with copyright regulations (Ricoh myprint Service) Use computers Take part to training classes Ask the librarians for assistance
How to borrow books To borrow books you have to show your student card (badge) to the librarians at the circulating desk. You can borrow up to 20 books at a time from the Social Sciences libraries. A book can be borrowed for 60 days and the loan renewed for 5 times
How to borrow books. You can borrow books that have the prestabile status. You cannot borrow books that have non prestabile status. Pay attention: if there is a date in the right column, the book is on loan until that date or until it s returned.
Renewals and reservations You can also: 1. Put a reservation on a book when it is on loan: go to the catalogue and click on the My library card link, enter your matricola number and codice fiscale. When the book is returned to the library, you will be notified. 2. Renew a loan: go to the catalogue and click on the My library card link, enter your matricola number and codice fiscale. You can renew a book loan up to 5 times. Please note, that there are some exceptions: if the book is reserved by another user or if your loan is overdue you will not be able to make a renewal
Some materials are excluded from loan Here are some materials that cannot be borrowed: Journals, periodicals, magazines, newspapers, encyclopedias, dictionaries Works printed before 1900, rare books, books in poor condition

If you don t find a journal article in Padua Make a Document Delivery request through NILDE It s for free
Photocopies You may photocopy part of book/journal, according to copyright laws using your student card. With our machines you can photocopy, scan or print. (register to Myprint service) http://padova.ricohmyprint.it
