Install Process Manufacturing Production and Logistics This document explains how to install Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Process Manufacturing Production and Logistics. Step 1: Before you install Before you install, you must download the files and review the Known Issues documentation. Download the files The installation files for Process Manufacturing Production and Logistics are contained in two self-extracting files. One contains model files and upgrade XPOs, and the other contains Contoso demo data. Double-click each file and provide a location where the contents of each file should be extracted. We recommend choosing a location other than the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 installation folder. Review Known Issues We recommend that you review Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Known Issues documentation before you install. Copy the ProcessManufacturing.axmodel and ProcessManufacturingUpgrade.axmodel files from the extracted files location in Step 1 to the Models\Standard folder of your Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 installation. 2. Run the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 setup program. 3. In the Select Additional Models dialog, select the following check boxes: a. Foundation Upgrade b. Process Manufacturing c. Process Manufacturing Upgrade Existing Installations To add this solution to an existing installation of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, please do the following: 1. Copy the ProcessManufacturing.axmodel and ProcessManufacturingUpgrade.axmodel files from the extracted files location in Step 1 to the Models\Standard folder of your Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 installation. 2. Run the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 setup program. 3. Select Add or modify components. 4. Select Configure existing Databases. a. Make sure the Database name is MicrosoftDynamicsAX. b. Make sure the Baseline database name is MicrosoftDynamicsAX_modelbaseline. 5. In the Select Additional Models dialog, click the following check boxes: a. Foundation Upgrade if it wasn t selected during the initial installation b. Process Manufacturing c. Process Manufacturing Upgrade 6. Complete the installation. For more information, please see the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Installation Guide. Step 3: Restore Contoso Data from Backup Configure Process Manufacturing Production and Logistics 1. Start the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 client 2. Confirm that the configuration keys controlling deleted objects are not enabled: a. Select System Administration > Setup > Licensing > License Configuration b. Clear the Keep update objects 4.0 check box. c. Clear the Keep update objects 5.0 check box. d. Clear the Keep update objects 6.0 check box. Microsoft Corporation 6
3. Select OK to close the Configuration form, and synchronize the database, if necessary. 4. Close the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 client. Restore Backup Data 1. Stop the AOS. Typically: a. Open a command prompt. b. Enter net stop aos60$01 2. Copy Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Process Manufacturing Production and Logistics Contoso Demo Data (Convergence Beta.bak to a local folder on the database server. 3. Open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio. 4. Right-click on Local > Databases > AXDB in the Object Explorer. 5. Select Tasks Restore Database from the context menu. 6. Select From Device. 7. Click the ellipsis button. 8. Click the Add button. 9. Select the SQL Server backup of the beta data Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Process Manufacturing Production and Logistics Contoso Demo Data (Convergence Beta).bak. 10. Select OK. 11. In the Restore Database dialog, put a checkmark in the Restore column. 12. Click Options in the left pane. 13. In the Restore options section, select the Overwrite the existing database check box. Start the AOS and Client 1. Start the AOS. Typically: a. Open a command prompt. b. Enter net start aos60$01 2. Start the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 client. If you cannot log in, run a SQL Server command to update the USERINFO table to allow you to log in: update userinfo set networkdomain = 'YourDomain', networkalias = 'YourAlias', SID = 'YourSID' where ID = 'Admin' Microsoft Corporation 8
Also, check your client configuration if you customized it. If you have a client configuration that includes a company that does not exist in the dataset, your client will not be able to connect to the AOS. Just remove the non-existent company from the client configuration to allow the client to connect. 3. Go to System Administration > Setup > System > System service accounts. 4. Enter the account to use for the Business Connector proxy. 5. Close the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 client. Install Other Components 1. Install Enterprise Portal and other services after restoring the Contoso data. Microsoft Corporation 9
