Marco Mazzi VIDEO PRODUCTION (2010-2011) Marco Mazzi (b. 1980) is an Italian writer living and working in Tokyo. His activity is related with philosophical issues concerning the nature of vision, in the possibility of expanding the conception of narration in film and video. Mazzi is trying to explore an alternative usage of narrative. It is a narrative as a way of constructing a relational experience, a narrative as a medium to connect viewers with the artist's experience of reality, rather than making it as a tool for telling a story. In political terms, Mazzi feels strong affinity with Walter Benjamin and Antonio Gramsci in their thinkings over art and the relationship of the individual in society.
