Ankit Agarwal Senior Consultant, Management Consulting, IT Advisory Challenging projects Your graduate degree and KPMG From partners who are published authors to consultants that have PhDs, KPMG has a high calibre of talent. One of the biggest learnings that I have applied from my MBA experience, is how to communicate effectively. Our client projects are often highly complex, and it is important to develop communications that are impactful and concise. KPMG provides training to all consultants on how to approach a problem and communicate the results, which helps ensure that everyone at the firm has a standard of excellence to how client engagements are conducted. One of the most fascinating projects I have worked on was developing a technology vision for a logistics firm. The client was experiencing exponential growth and wanted to strive to be on the cutting edge of technology. To gather insights, we conducted extensive research on upcoming trends in the logistics industry, and also collaborated with several of KPMG s global staff members who specialized in this area, which allowed us to provide examples of technologies that were directly applicable to the client s business. Having access to a knowledgeable global network of specialists is a big value proposition that we bring to our clients, and allows us to leverage real life examples and learnings. Building relationships One of the most memorable moments at KPMG was working at a client site in Windsor, Ontario. Our team consisted of people from Toronto and Montreal, some of whom I was meeting for the first time. Over the course of the week, we had several team dinners and got to know each other better. Since then, I have worked with the same team members on several other projects and have developed a strong relationship with them. This example goes a long way to show the culture of the firm, where team building and cross-functional collaboration are highly valued qualities.

As someone who is very passionate in this area - I am on the Board of Directors for the Breast Cancer Society, mentor four newcomers to Canada through TRIEC, involved in Ryerson University s Top 200 Program where I mentor two students, and am also the KPMG National Lead for World Partnership Walk in support of eliminating global poverty - I am fortunate to work for a firm that provides paid days for community work, and has recognized me with two community leadership awards. Why KPMG I chose to join KPMG for the variety of work, the countless opportunities, and most importantly the people. The practice that I was interested in was just growing and I liked the idea that I was helping to build something and was able to work on a number of varying projects rather than focusing on a specific type of work. I got to know the recruitment team and I liked what I saw and heard the people were genuine, supportive and most importantly worked as a team. Lastly, I really aligned with the firm s values, specifically around corporate responsibility. KPMG supports their peoples passions, and I could not see myself going anywhere else.

Daniel Resnick Senior Manager, Management Consulting, Strategy and Operations Learning and development Global opportunities My favourite part of working at KPMG is the amazing breadth and depth of clients that we engage with. I had the opportunity to travel to Mumbai and work with KPMG in India in sharing our global approach to customer experience strategy. This was an amazing opportunity for both teaching and learning from colleagues in an entirely different market, whose unique challenges and opportunities helped me learn how to do a better job thinking through the issues faced by my clients back home. New consultants are exposed to a breadth of sectors, playing a leadership role in delivering mandates and developing thought leadership, and are encouraged to gravitate over time to the ones that they are most interested in. In Advisory you will be asked to solve problems that may be completely new to you or even to the industry, and it s your resourcefulness that will help you succeed. We all work to support one another not only in our projects, but also in achieving our goals both professional and in the community. The amount of knowledge and opportunities that this firm collectively has to offer is endless. The projects are always interesting, rewarding, and empowering, and you always feel like you are learning something new. KPMG on campus What fascinates me about KPMG s recruitment process is the importance placed on personal touch.
