To be eligible to enroll in our next session, all you need to do is complete our Quick Apply process by submitting the application form, the $85 application fee (credit card or check), and unofficial proof of your bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Master s Degree Admissions Checklist If you have not already completed and submitted the Application for Graduate Admission, please do so now to ensure you will have a reserved spot in the next class. Under the Quick Apply provisions you may be enrolled immediately in a class for one full semester preceding your admission to the university. You must complete the full admission process and be admitted to graduate studies to be eligible to reenroll in classes with Florida Tech. Only admitted students are eligible for student financial aid (Stafford) federal loans. Admission to a Florida Tech master s degree program is based upon your overall academic and professional background. The admissions evaluation process considers cumulative undergraduate (and graduate if applicable) grade point averages as well as related professional work experience. Prospective students may be interviewed by a student advisor to discuss specific details of individual applicants backgrounds. The following steps constitute the complete application process, except for students with an international background, who must see the Supplemental Instructions for Applicants with an International Background. 1. Master s Degree Program Plan and Transfer Credits The degree program plan follows the Florida Institute of Technology s curricular requirements as outlined in the current Catalog (2005-06). The degree program plan becomes effective when signed by the student, faculty advisor, and academic unit head. Should any conflicts or errors be subsequently detected in an approved degree program plan and the curricular requirements as outlined in the Catalog in effect at the time of the program plan approval, the provisions in the university Catalog will prevail. The university reserves the right to correct any administrative errors that may be entered on an approved program plan. The degree program plan identifies any deficiency courses that may have been assigned to the student at the time of evaluation for admission, and all required courses needed to complete the total degree requirements. In the event that a required course identified on the program plan is no longer offered by the university due to a curriculum update, the university will designate the substitute course. A maximum of twelve transfer credit hours is permitted for one master s degree at Florida Tech University Online. Transfer credit may be applied toward required courses in the approved program plan subject to approval by the faculty advisor and academic unit head. Courses considered for transfer credit must have been completed at a U.S. regionally accredited college/university, have been completed for graduate credit with a letter grade of B or A, and have been completed within six years from date of first enrollment at. General Academic Degree Requirements It is understood that the degree program plan will be fulfilled when the student completes all requirements specified in the Catalog for degree award. The degree program plan will become inactive if the student is approved to change to another degree program major at the university. Florida Tech s commitment to award the degree based upon an approved degree program plan shall expire if the student fails to complete any course in two years from date of admission, or after any two consecutive years of inactivity. Additionally, all courses reflected on an approved program plan (including approved transfer credit courses) must be completed within a required seven-year statute of limitations. Waivers of the course statute of limitations may be considered based upon written currency examinations in the course subject matter. In addition to the fulfillment of the academic progress standards listed in the Catalog, master s degree candidates must all satisfy the following requirements: 1. Students must successfully complete (with a grade of C of higher) all required and elective courses as outlined on the approved Master s Degree Program Plan. 2. Any required course in which a grade of D or F is received must be repeated for credit at the earliest opportunity. 3. A grade of D or F in any course may result in academic probation, or dismissal depending upon the student s credit hours completed and cumulative GPA. 4. Students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or better to remain in good academic standing with the university, and to be eligible for graduation. 6 Application Package September 2007

Tuition and Fees Florida Tech s Online Master's Program consists of 33 credit hours. An evaluation of the student s transcripts will determine if prerequisites are needed. Faculty advisers can recommend up to 4 prerequisites. Tuition for core courses and prerequisites is $585.00 per credit hour. Books and materials for each course are purchased separately for $225.00 to $295.00 per course, plus shipping & handling, and tax (for Florida, Texas, Missouri, and Illinois only). All prices are subject to change without notice. Payment Options for Students Credit Card Students should contact their program representative to arrange payment terms and registration. Books and materials are charged separately from tuition. BISK Education, Inc. accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Check or Money Order Students should record their Bisk Account number or social security number on the check or money order to assure that their account is properly credited. Checklist of Supplemental Information For Applicants with an International Background For the purposes of Application to a Florida Tech Online Master s Degree Program, an International Applicant is defined as any non- U.S. citizen and any U.S. citizen whose undergraduate degree was earned outside of the U.S. All specified application items are to be submitted to, in care of the University Alliance at the address specified below. 1. An official transcript, or notarized copy of the official transcript, certified as True and exact copy of the original document. The notary official cannot be the applicant or a family member of the applicant. If the official transcript is in a language other than English, a certified translation of the transcript and degree award must also be supplied from an approved Credential Evaluation Service (please see approved list of agencies below). 2. Applicants with an undergraduate degree from outside the U.S. must submit a certified credential evaluation from an approved Credential Evaluation Service (please see approved list of agencies below). The undergraduate degree awarded must be equivalent to a four-year baccalaureate degree from a U.S. regionally accredited university or college. 4. A TOEFL exam achieving a score of 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) is required for admission unless one of the two following conditions have been met. Condition 1- Official documented proof from the degree-granting institution that the medium of instruction of the degree program was English, OR condition 2 - a degree has been received from a regionally accredited U.S. school. Applicants from countries where the native language is English such as Canada are exempt from the TOEFL requirement. Official proof from foreign universities consists of a formal letter from the school documenting the medium or instruction or documentation of the medium on official transcripts. 5. A completed and signed Application for Admission to Graduate School and a Supplemental Application for Applicants with an International Background must include the required $85.00 application fee payable to Florida Tech. 6.
