Wetback The edson Wetback system can be attached to wood, pellet, coal or diesel burners. It is perfect for use with a wood stove, fireplace or other solid fuel burner. Heat from the combustion process is used to heat the water jackets in the solid fuel burning appliance. Water is then circulated through the water jackets and through pipes to the storage cylinder. Hot water can be delivered indirectly, as a low pressure or mains pressure system, or in some cases where the fuel burning appliance has a suitable boiler incorporated, the hot water can be delivered directly into the storage cylinder. The system can also be fully wired with an optional thermostatically controlled electric heating element, which can be used in the hotter months. When connected with the correct pressure, the system can also be used for heating the household as well as heating the water. Why not add an Edson Solar Collector? Wetbacks are most effective when coupled with a solar collector. Coupling a Wetback with a solar collector will help provide hot water in summer and reduce use of a backup electric element, allowing households to enjoy hot water all year round. 2 Heat your home naturally with the Edson Wetback system
Solid Fuel Hot Water Benefits of the Edson Wetback system: Utilises heat from existing solid fuel burning appliances. Highly adaptable with a range of installation options. When coupled with Edson Solar Collectors, households could enjoy free hot water all year round. Optional electrical element boosting and water pump. Select your system 1. Assess your needs Before you choose your new system, assess your existing system and household hot water needs. This will include the number of residents, whether your fuel burning appliance has a boiler incorporated and where the Wetback cylinder can be placed in your home. 2. Choose optional solar package For year round cost effective heating, Wetbacks are most effective when coupled with a solar collector. An Edson Solar Collector can be fitted to any Edson Wetback system with solar collector options to suit your hot water needs. SC Edson Wetback Stove Cylinder Configuration This system configuration is designed to be installed as close as possible to the fuel burning appliance for direct connection. It is connected by either a cold water supply tank (fitted in the roof) or a pressure reduction valve with open vent. Suitable for Standard, Mains Pressure and Indirect systems. 3. Choose your system configuration 4. Choose your extras 1. Standard 2. Mains Pressure 3. Indirect 4. Universal Choose an Edson Wetback system configuration based on your hot water needs. Your system will come as either a Stove Cylinder or Universal Cylinder. See below for how these cylinders will be installed in your home. A Stove Cylinder must be installed within close proximity to the appliance, but a Universal Cylinder can be installed as a roof model. Choose from available optional extras to add to your system. Electric boosting, house heating, water pumps and dual hot water outlets are available but will depend on your household and system configuration. UC Edson Wetback Universal Cylinder Configuration This system configuration is used for existing appliances that have boilers that are of a non-corrosive nature (ie. copper or stainless steel) and allows for direct connection to the storage tank. This unit is available for operation as a fixed head roof model. Suitable for a Universal system configuration only. UC 5
