Provincial/Territorial Grade 12 Equivalency Chart Listed below are the Grade 12 courses from provinces and territories outside of Alberta that are accepted by NorQuest College as being equivalent to Alberta Grade 12 courses. The courses listed are administered by the provincial ministry of education for that province or territory. Individual educational institutions in each province may run equivalent courses to the provincial ministry courses but use different course codes and titles. If applying to a program at NorQuest College, it is the responsibility of the applicant to provide proof of the course being equivalent to what is shown. This may mean having to obtain a full course syllabus from the school for us to compare, or having the school provide written verification that the course is equivalent to the provincial ministries course (this verification must be sent to us directly from the educational institution). This may be required especially when the education presented was taken under past curriculum used; may have a different course code and title to current curriculum. Note: This chart only provides information on the Gr. 12 levels. If a lower level of course is required for admission to programs (Grade 10 or 11 levels), most provinces follow some type of numeric course code sequence that indicates the grade level. For example, in Alberta the course code sequence is 10, 20, and 30; indicating Grade 10, 11, and 12 respectively. In BC, the course code sequence is 10, 11, and 12. In New Brunswick, the first two digits of the course code indicate the grade level (10, 11, or 12), etc. British Columbia and Yukon Equivalency Chart British Columbia/Yukon High School Equivalents English 12 English Literature 12 English 12 First Peoples (EFP) English Language Arts 30-2 Communications 12 History 12 Geography 12 Comparative Civilizations 12 First Nation 12 Mathematics 30-1 Pre-Calculus 12 Principles of Math 12 Math 12 (Algebra) LD Geometry 12 Mathematics 30-2 Foundations of Mathematics 12 Applications of Math 12 Calculus 12 Biology 12 Chemistry 12 Physics 12
