ALMOST HOME: CAPITAL CAMPAIGN The Incredible Journey Almost Home is a subsidiary of Home for Good Dog Rescue.

4,000,000 dogs nationwide enter animal shelters annually. ASPCA Only about 10% of dogs that enter animal shelters are spayed or neutered. 30% of dogs residing in animal shelters are euthanized. In the time it took to read this sentence, an innocent animal was put to death by lethal injection or gas chamber for no other reason than there was simply no space. Humane Society 86% of the dogs that enter high-kill shelters in the Southeast United States are euthanized. This is almost three times the national average. Due to different beliefs about the treatment of animals in the Southeastern U.S., many dogs are not spayed and neutered, resulting in severe overcrowding in the shelters. 2 ALMOST HOME

Join the Incredible Journey Join us on our incredible journey to rescue homeless dogs and give them a second chance at life. By contributing to the Almost Home Capital Campaign, you will help build a wellness center for these dogs who are in dire need of medical care and attention as they embark on their journey to find their forever homes. The Almost Home wellness center, a subsidiary of the 501(c)(3) Home for Good Dog Rescue, will be a facility in Aiken, South Carolina that rehabilitates dogs saved from high-kill shelters but are initially too ill or young to travel. At Almost Home, dogs will receive life-saving medical care and time to recuperate until they can continue on the journey to their home for good. Our goal is to raise $2.5 million dollars in Phase 1 of the Almost Home Capital Campaign. Only with people like you, who share our vision, can we save more innocent dogs that would otherwise be left behind to die. Help make an impact today! Capital Campaign 3

Here s What We Do Can you imagine being a hungry, frightened dog living behind a dumpster when you are picked up by animal control to wait in a cramped cage until you re euthanized? Or after being someone s loyal companion for most of your life you re surrendered to a high-kill shelter because your medical treatment is too costly? Home For Good Dog Rescue deals with these heart-wrenching scenarios every day, and we have made it our mission to give these dogs a second chance at life. Established in 2010, Home for Good Dog Rescue is a volunteer-based 501(c) (3) non-profit animal rescue that operates out of Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. We rescue homeless dogs from high-kill shelters in the South and nurture them in our network of foster families, until they are adopted into their loving homes for good. Rescue Rescue dogs from high-kill shelters in South Carolina and Georgia, which are overflowing with unwanted dogs on the brink of being euthanized. Transport Transport our dogs via our own air conditioned van or volunteer rescue flights from the shelters in the South to New Jersey. A trip by van can take up to 14 hours, which we make at least thirty times a year. When dogs arrive at the rescue shelter, a group of loyal volunteers greet, bathe, and feed them. After the veterinary technician provides a thorough examination, they are now ready to enter a local foster family. Foster Foster these dogs in a volunteer network of loving homes. Fostering allows rescued dogs to become better acquainted with humans and other pets while learning to be part of a family. Adopt Adopt these dogs into loving homes for good by ensuring that all applicants can properly care for the dogs. The adopter enters into a contract that guarantees that their dog lives inside a home, is treated as a member of the family, and is seen for wellness examinations by a licensed veterinarian. Almost Home Almost Home wellness center is the next step in our mission to rescue adoptable dogs from an unfair fate. Although Home For Good Dog Rescue is proud to have rescued over 3,300 dogs in less than four years, we continue to witness tragedy along the way. Many of the dogs left behind in the South are adoptable, if only they could receive the right medical care. In Phase 1 of the Almost Home capital campaign, we will build an 8,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility on ten acres in Aiken, South Carolina, which will serve as a campus for rescued dogs that are too young or ill to travel to New Jersey. The new wellness center will be not only be a place to provide interim medical care, but also a community resource. Aiken, South Carolina is in close proximity to many of the high-kill shelters with the worst conditions. The Almost Home wellness center will be at the geographic heart of the issue, giving us a better chance to address the root causes of overpopulation. Your donations will help us build this center including its education resources, outreach programs, and a low-cost spay/neuter clinic to serve the needs of the community. Our goal is to raise $2.5 million dollars in Phase 1 of the Almost Home Capital Campaign. The land was purchased in October, 2014 with donated funds, but we still need your help. About Our Wellness Center Please help support Phase 1 of our capital campaign to build Almost Home in Aiken, South Carolina. The funds raised for Phase 1 will help build an 8,000 square foot state-of-theart facility and outfit it with medical equipment to care for these sick dogs. We will also need to initially stock Almost Home with medications, like antibiotics and preventatives, food and hire kennel and medical staff. If we are to get at the root of the overpopulation problem we will need to develop an education center and outreach program. This will include a spay/neuter clinic where we can offer these services at a minimal fee. We plan to allocate a part of the Almost Home facility to offer boarding, daycare and grooming services for a fee to the community. Offering these fee-based services will help us defray some our ongoing operating costs. Almost Home wellness center is located on Whiskey Road, a heavily traveled road and will be visible and convenient to the community. First Floor (Draft) 8 ALMOST HOME

How to Help Naming Opportunities Contact us at AlmostHomeCC@hfgdr.org to claim a naming opportunity at the Almost Home wellness center for yourself, a beloved pet, or a person you wish to honor. Schedule a Monthly Donation Recognizing that many caring people may not have the capacity to make a sizable gift at any one time, Almost Home suggests the alternative of making a smaller gift on a monthly basis. Gifts of Cash The easiest and most direct way of supporting Almost Home wellness center is a gift of cash. Gifts of Stock Avoid capital gains through a gift of highly appreciated stock while taking a full value deduction on your tax returns. Matching Gifts Many corporate employers will match their employees gift to a 501(c)(3) non-profit. If your company has such a program, please request their matching gift form and send the completed form to us. We will take care of the rest. To donate, go to our website at www.homeforgooddogs.org/donate, use the attached donation envelope or call us at (908) 263-7358 to make an impact. Almost Home is a subsidiary of Home for Good Dog Rescue and is a 501 (c) (3). Your donation is 100% tax deductible.
