4 Channel Passive Video UTP Transceiver Hub Installation Instructions
General This manual is a guide to the installation and operation of the VID-HUB-04P model VIDIPAC UTP. Please read the entire manual before installing. Brief description VID-HUB-04P model is a 4-channel passive transceiver hub with RJ45 and Terminal block UTP cable connection. This passive hub has built-in transient protection and excellent anti-interference ability. VID-HUB-04P Passive Hub allows 4-CCTV video signals to be transmitted via cost-effective Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cable. Used with passive transceivers, the UTP CCTV passive transceiver hub can connect the CCTV security and surveillance equipments using standard structured cabling techniques for neater and more streamlined cabling instead of costly and bulky coaxial cable. VID-HUB-04P also works in conjunction with other VIDIPAC passive transceivers and passive hubs. Features of VID-HUB-04P PAL, NTSC, SECOM video compatible 4-channel Passive device, no power required Transmission range: Colour signal up to 225m* working with passive transceivers RJ45 & Terminal block UTP cable connection BNC female connectors Transient protection and excellent anti-interference ability One year warranty Technical specifications Model Vidipac VID-HUB-04P Video Cable Type Environmental Bandwidth Insertion Loss CMMR Anti-transient Ability Coaxial Cable Coaxial Connector UTP Connection Specification* Resistance DC Loop Resistance Differential Capacitance Temperature DC-6MHz 0.5dB Typically 60dB 15kHz-5MHz 6000V 1.2μS 50μS 75ohm 4 x BNC-female video connectors RJ45 and Terminal block connectors UTP 24AWG minimum, Cat-3 upwards, 225m* maximum distance PAL & 300m maximum NTSC for CAT-5 100ohm±20% 18ohm/100m 62pf/m Operating: -20 to 70 C Humidity 0~95% Mechanical Weight Dimensions - overall of balun 125g 143 (L) 60mm (W) 28mm (H) *Product specifications are subject to change without notice Mechanical Drawing
Installation Caution Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) wires must be used. Note: Shielded twisted pair wires cause impedance mismatch Make sure there are no untwisted wires as it may result in distorted image and interference. Each video signal must use the same twisted pair. Make sure there are no extra branch (or star connection) of twisted pair as it results in ghost image. Always connect the transceivers with point-to-point Unshielded Twisted Pair wires. Coaxial cable length between the video equipment and the passive UTP transceiver balun must not exceed 1.8m. Transceiver installation Connect the VID-HUB-04P passive transceivers hub as close as possible through the coaxial cable to the video equipments (Camera, monitors, VCRs, DVRs, etc.) VID-HUB-04P passive transceiver hub has RJ45 and terminal block marked + and - for 4-video signals. Use a pair of Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) wires to connect single video signal. Make sure the + of one transceiver is connected to the + of another transceiver and vice versa for the - terminal. Make RJ45 connection according to the figure below and insert it into the RJ45 socket on the front panel of the transceiver hub. the RJ45 socket on the front panel of the transceiver hub Or make terminal block connection according to the figure below

Make sure There are no untwisted UTP wires to avoid interference Attenuated image. Make sure Coax length is less than 1.8m UTP length is less than 225m Distorted image. Make sure To use UTP wires Cat3 upwards to avoid impedance mismatch.
