Proceeds (US$b) Global Project Finance Up 9% I GebzeOrhangaziIzmir Highway Largest Deal First Quarter 203 MANAGING UNDERWRITERS Global Project Finance Review Global Deals Intelligence Global: Project Finance activity for the first three months of 203 totaled US$42 billion with 2 deals, up 8.8% compared to the same period last year. was the busiest sector, closing US$3.4 billion from 9 deals, the largest of which was the US$2.8 billion GebzeOrhangaziIzmir Highway in Turkey. Americas: Project Finance Loans totalling US$7.4 billion closed in the first quarter, an increase of 6.2% over last year. However the number of project financings closed fell 38.5% from 26 in Q 202 to just 6 deals in Q 203. EMEA: The first quarter of 203 saw 3% fewer project financings signed; however, those projects that did receive funding were larger on average resulting in 48.5% increase in loan proceeds, which stood at US$22 billion.
