Sexual Health 101

Sexual health is a state of physical, emotional, mental & social well-being in relation to sexuality. It is not merely the absence of disease... Sexual health requires a positive & respectful approach to sexuality & sexual relationships, as well as the possibility of having pleasurable & safe sexual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination & violence - WHO Working Definition

Condom Tips: Penis Size Men should know their penis size! Be sure to wear the right size condom according to penis size. Condoms may be ordered in a variety of sizes from 3 to 10 inches. Shapes can be pleasurable Condoms come in various shapes and sizes. Shapely condoms have been reported to offer a more enjoyable experience for many and can add a fun twist to a person s sex life. Putting it on Use a new condom before each sex act. Squeeze tip of condom to remove air. When the penis is erect, place condom on tip and roll down all the way to the base of the penis. Don t flip it If you begin rolling a condom on inside out, don t flip it and continue use. Throw it away, and use a new condom. You should never flip a condom because it will expose the partner to pre-ejaculatory fluids. Taking it off After ejaculation, withdraw penis while still erect. Hold on to base of the condom while withdrawing the penis so that the condom does not slip off. Avoid further sexual contact with partner until both people have washed their hands, sex organs, and other areas that came in contact with body fluids.

You Decide When. Make Your Own Decision. While you wait, masturbate! Masturbation is a 100% safe way to experience sexual pleasure. Explore your own sexuality until you are ready for sex for the first time or with a new partner.

How to use Dental Dams: 1. Put some water-based or silicone lubricant on one side of the dam. The wet side will help increase sensation. 2. Put the wet side of the dam on partner s vagina or anus. Now the dam can be used by placing mouth on partner. 3. When done, throw the dam away. Do not use a dam more than once. Tip: Condoms can be turned into dental dams! Before unrolling the condom, cut through the rolled portion in one place. When unrolled, this will create a sheet of latex similar to a dental dam.

Did you know that friction is the #1 reason why condoms break? One drop of lubrication on the inside of the condom can increase sensation for both partners! Add as much lube as desired on the outside of the condom to reduce friction. There are many different types of lube use water-based, silicone, flavored, or all-natural Always stay away from oil-based lubes, such as massage oils, which weakens latex, making the condom likely to break!

Water Based Latex and silicone toy safe Absorbed by the body may need to reapply Variety of consistencies and types available, including warming Widely available Flavored Water-based Come in a variety of flavors Can be used vaginally, orally, or anally does not contain sugar All-Natural Glycerin and Methylparaben free Available in assorted flavors Silicone Thinner than most water-based lubricants Long lasting little need to reapply Can be used in or underwater Best lubricant for use for anal sex Glycerin free Not to be used with silicone sex toys Latex safe Needs to be washed off

Wash Sex Toys in hot, soapy water or with a bleach solution before sharing, or use fresh condoms on them for each partner.

Excessive Alcohol Use Can Impair Your Judgment and Lead to Poor Sexual Choices that Put YOUR HEALTH AT RISK

Sobering Facts About Mixing Sex and Alcohol: Why Does Alcohol Affect Sexual Behavior? Men and women both are more likely to engaged in casual sexual behavior when there is alcohol involved. Alcohol lowers inhibitions about engaging in sexual behaviors. 65% reported alcohol or drugs being involved in their more recent casual sex encounter. STIs and Alcohol Young adults who used alcohol were seven times more likely to have unprotected sex. About 23% of sexually active teens and young adults say they have had UNPROTECTED sex because they were using alcohol or drugs at the time. Oral sex under the influence of alcohol tends to involve less discussion of safe sex practices than without alcohol, thus increasing risk for STI transmission. Sexual Assault: How Is It Related to Alcohol? 20-25% of college women reported some kind of rape (attempted or completed). At least 50% of college students sexual assaults are associated with alcohol use. 47% of the sexual assaults reported by college men involved alcohol consumption.
