Below and on the following pages we provide a snapshot of some of the real customers we helped this year; their age, what they do, why they needed to claim and how much financial support they received through their AMP claims experience. Trauma claims examples Trauma cover provides a lump sum payment if a customer is diagnosed with an insured medical condition or undergoes an insured medical procedure. The types of conditions and procedures that trauma insurance may cover include heart attack, major organ transplant, cancer, stroke and paralysis to name a few. A female working as a public servant had a stroke at age 48. She received: A male labourer aged 47 made a trauma claim for bowel cancer and received: A 53 year old male architect made a trauma claim for cancer of the prostate. AMP claims snapshots Terminal Illness claims examples Death cover is designed to provide for mortgage and other debts so that spouses and children benefit from the income they need to continue their lifestyle. AMP will advance all or part of the Death cover insured amount if the insured person is diagnosed as being terminally ill. A 37 year old male working as a boilermaker claimed on his insurance for a cancerous brain tumour. Total claim paid: $1,001,373 A 31 year old female who worked as a systems analyst made a claim due to bowel cancer and received: $400,000 A 49 year old female home maker claimed due to a combination of breast and liver cancer and, for her claim, received: $317,313 Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD) claims examples TPD cover provides a lump sum payment if the customer is totally and permanently disabled. This cover can help pay for medical expenses, repay major debts and help provide for the future. A 50 year old male who worked as a manager claimed for Meniere s disease and received: $443,419 A 49 year old male auto-electrician was in a motor bike accident and became a paraplegic. For his claim he received: $318,227 A 36 year old female working as a chemist was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She received: $205,393 A 49 year old female accountant was in a motor vehicle accident leaving her with traumatic brain injury and multiple fractures. She received: $224,066
Income Protection claims examples Income Protection, also known as temporary salary continuance, usually pays a monthly benefit of up to 75% of a customer s regular income if they re too sick or injured to work. A 43 year old male electrician was in a motor vehicle accident and suffered multiple injuries. To date he has received income protection payments of: $25,407 A 38 year old male mechanic injured his right shoulder in an accident. He is receiving $3,034 per month with a total to date of: $36,084 A 48 year old male labourer suffered a stroke. To date, for his claim, he has received: $25,627 A 46 year old female hairdresser was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
