Annual Meeting and 2014 Board Nominees The NSWC Federal Credit Union Annual Meeting will be held on April 22, 2015 at 4pm at the King George Citizen Center located at 8076 Kings Highway, King George, VA. The doors will open at 3pm for voting. There are three board seats up for election and the Nomination Committee has received application from five candidates: Jack Bell has been a member of the Credit Union for 28 years and he currently serves on the Supervisory Committee for NSWC Federal Credit Union. He is originally from Kingsgate, England and grew up in Dyersburg, TN. He joined the US Army in 1974 after high school. He transferred to the US NAVY in 1980 and retired as a Senior Chief Fire Controlman with over 21 years of service. Mr. Bell graduated from Excelsior College with a B.S. in Liberal Arts. He is currently employed with the Department of the Navy, NSWC DD. Mr. Bell enjoys spending time with his wife, being a Life Member of the American Numismatic Association, as well as a member of the American Legion and Disable American Veterans. John Wedding has been a member of NSWC Federal Credit Union for 14 years. He served as the Chairman of the Credit Unions Supervisory Committee for almost 10 years and currently serves on the Board of Directors. Mr. Wedding was born and raised in New York, and received a PHD in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. He currently resides in King George, Virginia with his wife and daughter. Mr. Wedding is active in his church and enjoys spending his spare time with his family and playing music for several groups at church. Jim Ball has been a member of the Credit Union for 52 years. He has served on the Board of Directors for the past 25 years and currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors. He is originally from West Virginia and he graduated from WVU-Institute of Technology with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics. He currently resides in Spotsylvania, VA and enjoys spending time with his wife of 32 years. Mr. Ball volunteers for the Disabled American Veterans, is an avid golfer and currently serves as President of his homeowner s association. James Venable has been a member of the Credit Union for 18 years, currently serves as the Vice President of the Board of Directors and served on the Supervisory Committee for numerous years. Born in Stuart, VA, he is a graduate of WVU-Institute of Technology with a BSEE and graduated with a MSSE from Virginia Tech in 2002. He received a Navy Meritorious Award in 2004 and an Award of Excellence for Program Leadership in 2013. He enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. Additional hobbies include playing golf, fishing and football. Julie Irving has been a member of the Credit Union for 8 years. Julie is self employed and is the owner and manager of Clear Day Health Care Staffing. She is originally a native of the Washington DC area. She attended Radiography School and worked in health care from 1993-2000. She attended Old Dominion University to complete a Bachelors of Science in Health Care Management. She serves on several school committees as Program Advisor in Radiography. Julie enjoys spending time with her daughter and her numerous activities. Additional hobbies include camping and traveling. Nominations may also be made on the ballot by petition by the membership. Nominations by petition must be signed by 1% of the membership and be accompanied by a certificate from the nominee or nominees stating that he/she is agreeable to the nomination and will serve if elected. Petitions for nomination must be received by the Board of Directors by March 12, 2015.
