WHAT IS NG-PON2? NG-PON2 selected TWDM-PON as the primary technology solution with point-to-point WDM overlay channels and with full coexistence with legacy ITU-T PONs (G-PON, XG-PON) and RF video. 4 or 8 wavelengths can be used to provide 40G or 80G downstream and 10G, 40G or 80G upstream. It is also possible to use up to 8 channels on a point-to-point WDM configuration.
