A short history of the company 1961. the first plastic processing plant named Bács-Kiskun Megyei Mőanyagfeldolgozó Vállalat (Plastic Processing Company of Bács-Kiskun County) was founded in Kiskunfélegyháza as an individually run company of the local government. On the basis of its own resources, the plant established the plastic and rubber processing industry of Alföld (the Great Hungarian Plain). 1963, January 1, the founders changed the name of the Company to Alföldi Mőanyagfeldolgozó Vállalat (Plastic Processing Company of Alföld). 1965 in line with the prevailing directives of economic policy of the era, the Company lost its independence through a merger with the ELECTRIC INSULATION AND PLASTIC FACTORY (VSZM). The Company carried on with its activities as Plant No. 2. 1990 with the strict central control becoming less and less tight in the 80 s, independent management could be gradually introduced. The plant in Kiskunfélegyháza was practically prepared in all respects to operate independently, therefore an initiative by the staff employed at the plant was forwarded to the founding organization with the objective to have the Company transformed into an independent state-run enterprise. 1991, January 1, in pursuance of a decision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Kiskunfélegyháza plant was transformed into an independent company named KUNPLAST Technical Plastic Factory. 1992, November 1, as a first step in the process of privatization, the State Property Agency transformed the Company into a Company Limited by Shares. 1994, the second phase is marked by actual privatization. As a result of a series of competitions, a major proportion of the property shares owned by the state were bought by the employees of the Company in the framework of the Employees Part Ownership Program (EPOP). We held an unusual statutory meeting of shareholders on 26 th of February 2000, and we decided to raise our basic funds in 61%. The exclusively issued shares are bought out by Karsai Holding Plc, so our company owners's structure and name have changed to Kunplast-Karsai Technical Plastic Industrial Corporation.

Quality assurance system Up-to-date and reliable quality assurance system is a basic requirement in the car industry. In addition to detailed documentation procedures applied to supplier products, in-process and final inspection, the quality assurance system also includes a training system for the employees, statistical control of procedures, order of calibration procedures applied to measuring equipment, and the planning and monitoring of a great number of other procedures affecting the quality of the end product. The equipment used in the quality assurance laboratory allows for accomplishing various procedures related to basic material analysis, material testing, long-term analysis and measurement concerning application techniques.. The system in operation conforms to the quality assurance requirements of ISO 9001:2000, and also to the requirements of ISO/TS 16949:2002 at the production of parts for the automotive industry, and ISO 14001 certificate in 2002. Our company was qualified for these certificates by AIB Vincotte International Ltd. on the 12 th April 2002.

With our 7pcs of 1000tons,2pcs of 1250tons and a 2200tons of clamping force machines we are one of the most significant plastic processing company in Hungary. Processing of thermoplastics by compression molding and injection molding One of the largest thermoset plastic processing plants in Hungary operates at our Company. Products are made by moulding and die-casting of phenol-aldehyde, aminoplast, and in the largest volume glassreinforced SMC materials. Our machines are capable of manufacturing products using a moulding technology of up to 1,000 tons compression power. The given products are mostly used by the electricity industry and the vehicle industry. Bakelite die-casting is also applied in manufacturing ash-trays for passenger cars produced by Renault and Suzuki. Brake shoes The plant employees an average of 25 people for the production of welded brake shoes items for parking brakes of BMW, Opel, Audi, and Porsche passenger cars in the framework of co-operation with the German company. Manufacturing proceeds on a commission basis with a production of 5-6 millions of items per year. Although the given activity is not closely related to our main activities, its underlying background and the implemented quality assurance system have made it possible to incorporate the technology involved. Applied technologies: - Processing of metal by eccentric press - Resistance welding - Calibration - Heat threatment

Processing of aluminium plates This workshop is manufacturing heat shields for BMW, FORD, VOLSWAGEN models. The production is going in active wage-work construction. Applied technolgies: - Deep drawing of the plates - Beading and holing - Assembly

Warehouses

Machine and Plant maintenance Routine maintenance primarily involves maintenance and repair of the manufacturing equipment. In the course of maintenance procedures, we can rely on the extensive experience gained in the maintenance of hydraulic and electric equipment. Recently we planned and produced high quality special purpose machines for our partners. In addition to daily maintenance, we also perform an important number of reconditioning activities. Relying on several years of experience, we manufacture complete fusion units for KuASY, Battenfeld, Engel, Tos, Netstal die-casting machines and various brands of extruding machines. The screws are made of pretempered (85 90 kp/mm²) alloy steel geometrically formulated according to the customer s needs and in harmony with the properties of the material to be processed. The cylinder is also made of pretempered alloy steel. We undertake also for external customers the manufacture of various machine components for die-casting machines. E.g. - safety posts with textile bakelite cushing - wrist pins with cushing - wrist safety posts with cushing The above products are prepared from ground case-hardened steel.
