Dear Skaters, Coaches, Parents, and Friends, Tri -State Championship The Eastern Region Artistic Coaches Association is pleased to announce that we are hosting our Tri-State Championship to be held Sunday morning,, at, Woodbridge, NJ. Competition will be geared towards the newer and upcoming skaters. We are offering Youth Development, Tiny Tot and Intro events in Figures, Dance and Singles. We hope this format will give coaches and skaters an opportunity to compete in a less expensive and more relaxed atmosphere. Since Primary, "B" and "C" events will be offered at the Regional Championship, they will not be offered at this contest. This contest will be run at Woodbridge this year only. These events will return to the Regional Championships next year at Holiday Skating Center. We will be offering the Eastern Region Youth Developmental Program (ERYDP), which aids in the development of the newer skaters. This is a three-tiered program, with the Red, Yellow and Green levels available for our contests. PLEASE NOTE: Events will start no earlier than 6AM on Sunday. For a copy of the final schedule, please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope or e-mail address. A final schedule will be posted on the Eastern Region Web Page www.erusars.org All events will be Co-Ed events. Multiple events may be performed together but will be judged separately. Rules of Entry: All USARS rules will be observed, except as noted. Contestants registering only in ERYDP Events, Tiny Tot and Intro Events may skate without a USARS membership. You must sign a waiver to participate in the events. Awards: Unique medals with neck ribbons will be presented for first through third places. ERYDP skaters will all receive a participation award. AGE ELIGIBILITY is determined by the skater s age on January 1, 2015. Intro Level events are for skaters who have never competed in a Regional Championship in an Official artistic event. (Level C, Level B and Level A events) Final Events: Due to the nature of the contest all events will be final events. Unofficial Event Rules: Eastern Region Youth Development Program Events: Please Refer to the www.erusars.org web page (Contest Page) Intro Events: An open event for skaters who have never competed in a Regional Championship in an Official artistic event. (Level C, Level B and Level A events) Skaters who exceed the skill level of Intro will be asked to register in Level C, B or A Standard divisions in future competitions. There will be three age groups as follows: (Age as of 1/1/2015) Primary Intro 8 years old and under (Figures, Freestyle, Solo Dance, No Team Dance) Youth Intro 9 to 15 years old (Figures, Freestyle, Solo Dance, Team Dance) Adult Intro - 16 years old and older (Figures, Freestyle, Solo Dance, Team Dance) Figure Requirements: 111A & 112B Dance Requirements: Progressive Tango Intro Free Skating Rules: Time: Maximum of two minutes Music: Any music may be used, including vocal, as long as content is deemed appropriate. Content: Maximum of 5 jumps. Half or single jumps only. May only include one combination jump, which will count as one jump. Maximum of 3 upright spins. May only include one combination spin, which will count as one spin. No camel or sit spins. Content restrictions: 1½ revolution jumps and sit spins are beyond the skill level of the Intro divisions and will not be scored if attempted. USARS SPORT PARTICIPANT WAIVER & RELEASE OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND/OR PARENTAL CONSENT AND INDEMITY AGREEMENT I,, the undersigned, do hereby affirm and acknowledge that I have been informed of the inherent hazards and risks associated with the sport of roller skating, transportation of equipment related to the activities, and traveling to and from activity sites in which I am about to engage. I further agree to abide by the rules and regulations of USARS during the terms of this registration and agree to observe the Amateur Code of Conduct, in spirit as well as in letter, upholding the high ethics of amateur roller skating. I agree that I will wear the protective gear that is required by USARS. I understand that dangers may be caused by my own actions, or inactions, the action or inaction of others participating in these activities. I understand the nature of USARS activities and believe that I (or my minor child) am/are qualified and physically fit to participate in roller skating competitions and practices. I further acknowledge that I am aware that activity will be conducted in facilities that may be open to the public. As a skater, parent or legal guardian, I further agree and warrant that prior to participating in any event I will inspect the facilities to be used and if believing conditions are unsafe, I will immediately advise my coach or the host of this condition and refuse to participate unless corrected. I fully understand that USARS activities involve risks and dangers of serious bodily injury, including permanent disability, paralysis and death, and economic losses which might result not only from a skater s action, inaction or negligence, but the action, inaction or negligence of others, the rules of competition, or the condition of the premises or any equipment in use. I fully accept and assume all such risks and responsibilities for losses and costs and damages incurred as a result of my participation in USARS activities or arising out of my traveling to or returning from such activities or practice sessions. I hereby release, discharge, covenant not to sue and agree to hold harmless with respect to any and all injury, disability, death or loss of damage to persons or property, caused or alleged to be caused in whole or part by their negligence, the following persons or entities: USA Roller Sports, their administrators, directors, agents, officers, volunteers and employees, other participants, coaches, officials, any sponsors, advertisers, and where applicable, owners and lessors of premises and their employees on which the activity takes place and. I further agree that if a claim is made against any of the releases named above, despite this release, I, and the parent or guardian signing on behalf of a minor, agree to indemnify save and hold harmless each of the releases from any litigation expenses, attorney s fees, loss, liability, damage or any costs occurred as a result of any such claim. I have read this agreement and fully understand it s terms, understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing it, and have signed it freely and without inducement of assurance of any nature and intend it to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by the law and agree that if any portion of this agreement is held to be invalid that the balance, not withstanding, shall continue in full force and effect.
