Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he save us... Week 4 12 For the Child: ome people think that if they are good enough they can get Sto heaven. They try to be a good person by staying out of trouble and doing good works. They also think that God has a HUGE scale in heaven where He will weigh all of their good works to see if they can enter into heaven. Is this how someone gets to be with God in heaven? No, the Bible says that no one can get to heaven by doing good works not even the nicest, most polite person on earth. Weeks 1-7 Club Theme Verse: Truth Trackers, what is our prayer to God? Psalm 25:5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation... Scripture Spies Theme Verse: Scripture Spies, how should we receive the Scriptures? Acts 17:11... they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
WEEK 1 God wants me to glorify Him. Why did God create me? Isaiah 43:7... for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him. H ave you ever made something like a paper airplane or a colorful picture? You probably made the paper airplane and the picture for a reason. The paper airplane was made so you could have fun flying it, and the picture was made so it would look pretty hanging on the refrigerator. Did you know that just like you made those toys for a reason, God made you for a reason as well? Some people who don t believe the Bible think that you are here on earth by an accident called evolution, but that is not what the Bible says. Look at Isaiah 43:7 and see why God made you. Isaiah 43:7 says that God created you to glorify Himself! To glorify means that you love and obey God because He deserves it. You are not here on earth by accident. God put you here to glorify Him! Week 1 6 What does God want me to always do? 1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. 7
WEEK 2 I have not glorified God. How have I not glorified God? Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Last Completed Week In Arizona there is a beautiful national park called the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon is an eighteen mile wide pit in the ground that has a river flowing through it. Do you think anyone has ever jumped from one side of the Grand Canyon and made it to the other side? Never! There is no one that could ever do that. Even if someone was the greatest jumper in the world, he could not make it. If someone did try, he would fall short real short! Just like a person would fall short when trying to jump the Grand Canyon, every person falls short when he tries to be perfect like God. Romans 3:23 says you have fallen short because of your sin. No person, besides Jesus, has ever been perfect like God. Week 2 8 The child is to say the main verse he/she has completed, and then the leader is to write that week in the circle provided. Does God see any person as good? Ecclesiastes 7:20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not. 9
WEEK 3 My sin must be punished. Why do I deserve eternal death? Ezekiel 18:4... the soul that sinneth, it shall die. Some scientists are trying to figure out why people die, but the Bible has already told you in Ezekiel 18:4. So why do people die? Look at your verse and see if you can figure out what the Bible says is the reason your body will grow old and stop working. Ezekiel 18:4 says it is because of your sin. The punishment for your sin is death. However, when the Bible talks about death, it does not just refer to the time when one s body stops working, but it also refers to the time when one s soul is separated from God forever. The death of your body happens in a moment, but the death of your soul is eternal. That is why you need Jesus to give you eternal life, so you can avoid the eternal death of your soul and have eternal life with God. Week 3 10 What is the punishment for my sin? Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. 11
WEEK 4 My good works cannot forgive me. Can I do enough good works to earn my forgiveness? Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us... Some people think that if they are good enough they can get to heaven. God says there is only one way to get to heaven, not by your good works but by Jesus work on the cross. Only Jesus can save you from your sin and take you to heaven. Week 4 12 Why is forgiveness not through my good works? Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. 13
WEEK 5 Christ s death makes my forgiveness possible. What saves me from God s wrath? Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. hat if someone was arrested because he killed hundreds of W people? When that person stands before a judge, do you think the judge would let that man go without any punishment? No! Of course not! The judge would be angry with that man and punish him for his crimes. God is also like a judge. Every person who has ever lived stands before Him guilty of sin. In the same way a judge must punish sin, God punishes sin with eternal death. However, even though God is an angry judge, He is also a loving judge and does not want to punish people with eternal death. That s why God sent Jesus to die for the world s sin. God loves you so much that He will declare you not guilty if you trust in Jesus to take away your sin. Week 5 14 What makes forgiveness possible? Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. 15
WEEK 6 Forgiveness is granted when I repent and believe. How can I be saved from eternal death? Acts 16:31... Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. What does it mean to believe on Jesus? Does it just mean I believe He existed or that He died on the cross? No, it means much more than that. Believing in Jesus is not just knowing some facts. You might know that a walking bridge will hold you up, but if you really believe it will hold you up, you will step out on the bridge and walk across it. In the same way, believing in Jesus is not just knowing Jesus died for your sin, but it is believing that Jesus can take away your sin and then asking Him to do it. A lot of people know Jesus died for them, but they have never told Jesus that they believe only He can take away their sin. When you believe on Jesus, you are telling Him you want Him to take away your sin because you cannot do it yourself. Week 6 16 What does God give me when I believe on Jesus? John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. 17
WEEK 7 God forgives forever. Can I lose my eternal life? John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. What if you had a piece of gold worth a million dollars in your hand, and you didn t want anyone to get that gold? You would probably hold onto that gold very tightly. But if you wrapped it in your own hand, someone could probably still pry open your hand and steal it. But what if you asked Bruno, the world s strongest man, to protect your gold for you? Do you think anyone could take your gold out of his hand? Your gold would be safe in the hand of the world s strongest man. God is stronger than any man or any thing, and He holds every person who is saved in His hand. God promises that since He is so strong, no one or no thing can ever take His children out of His hand. So all who are saved can be confident that God will never let them go. Week 7 18 Who really knows if I am saved, even if I feel unsaved? 1 John 3:19-20 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. 19
