The Co-Teach Concept Access education online Blended learning format Greater efficacy Leveraging resources

How does this work? The co-teach program will be delivered by master/ senior facilitators from Infosys in collaboration with Infosys Campus Connect trained college faculty. 50% of the modules will be facilitated by the College faculty and 50% by the senior facilitators from Infosys. Faculty enablement webinars will be conducted for the college faculty 2 weeks ahead of the session by the Master facilitator. The co-teach session will be in the form of blended learning with concepts, practice activities and application opportunities. 3

The BEL offering Business English Lab is a holistic program created to sensitize prospective corporate entrants to the world of English Language, its varied nuances and apt usage in their role as global professionals Focus Learn Practice 4

The Need Based on research findings over the years, it has been established that many students have the following challenges in different aspects of Business English including: Comprehending complex sentence structures, thus not receiving complete information Difficulty in delivering structured and clear articulation of messages Poor listening skills, resulting in many instances of miscommunication Fear of sharing one s opinion/ view or presenting ideas to peers Lack of opportunities to apply and thus hone English language skills

Objectives Create awareness of English language competencies (primary and sub-skills) needed to perform effectively in the Global corporate workplace. Provide practice opportunities and guidance to enhance skills to the proficiency level expected by the organization. The level of proficiency that has been set is the Upper-Intermediate or B2 level of the BULATS of Cambridge University.

Reading Read and understand complex and possibly non routine correspondence and documentation with the help of a dictionary. Read and understand requests, instructions and reports, that form a part of the job responsibilities. Interpret graphs and charts accurately. Use techniques of literal, interpretive and applied reading. Apply the techniques of Skimming, Scanning, and Intensive reading of texts.

Understand accurate usage related to key grammatical elements. Countable and uncountable nouns Articles, Prepositions and Phrasal Verbs Tenses, Modal Verbs, Subject- Verb agreement Grammar Collocations, Business Vocabulary

Use appropriate and accurate words in everyday business communication. Build up a vocabulary base of 1,500 new words to be used in everyday communication. Vocabulary Understand some of the commonly used Idioms and phrases in business communication. Exposure to contemporary business language used in the corporate world.

Approach to be used Familiarization of skills involved in effective workplace interactions. This will be done through concept familiarization, followed by facilitating the application of the skills learnt in specific activities. Feedback is then given to the participants to consolidate the learning. Activation of passive vocabulary and existing correct grammar structures. Sensitization to areas of improvement in practice of Business English and possible strategies for practice and change. They will be given guidance to move towards greater proficiency levels, and implementation of the feedback received will observed. *Learning materials will mostly be BULATS type exercises with a clear business language focus.
