Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Committee This is not a Board of County Commission established Committee. Powers & Duties: The purpose of the Committee, in accordance with U.S. Economic Development Administration Guidelines for Economic Development Districts (1992), is to oversee and guide District-wide economic development planning. The Committee will develop strategies to address economic development issues including the diversification of the District economy and job expansion. Members share information, advise the Economic Development District on areas of economic data development, and create a consensus plan of action. The Strategy Committee is responsible for developing, implementing, revising, or replacing the CEDS. The Strategy Committee is also responsible for outlining the methodology for cooperating and integrating the CEDS with a State s economic priorities, and incorporating relevant material from other government sponsored or supported plans and ensuring consistency with applicable state and local workforce investment strategies. How Appointed: Five members are appointed from Martin County. Terms: The terms are from January to December of each year. Meetings: The Committee meets quarterly.
