Dry Film Thickness (DFT) 25 75 micron ( m) depending on the color being applied, 1.0 3.0 mils Application Recommendations Conditions Temperature: Relative Humidity: 15 35 C 59 95 F 30 95% Note - The quality of the application of all coatings will be influenced by the spray equipment chosen and the temperature, humidity, and air flow of the paint application area. When applying the product for the first time, it is recommended that test panels be prepared in order to identify the best equipment settings to be used in optimizing the performance and appearance of the coating. Equipment - Aerodur 3001 may be applied in conditions outside of the limits shown above. Care must be exercised to ensure a satisfactory result. Please contact your local representative to determine the proper application techniques and choice of activators when environmental conditions fall outside of the recommended range. 1. High pressure air assist airless electrostatic spray equipment (Graco Pro 4500 e.g.) Fluid pressure: 1800 to 2500 psi (pump ratio 30:1) Atomizing air pressure: 65-70 psi Flow rate: 330-380 cc per minute Tip size:.013 inches (0.33mm) 2. HVLP Input air: up to 45 psi Fluid/pot pressure: 5 to 20 psi Tip size: 0.047 0.055 inches (1.2 to 1.4mm) 3. Air Electrostatic spray equipment (Graco XS3 & XS4 e.g.) Atomizing air pressure: 5 bar Flow rate: 330 380 cc per minute Tip size: 0.047 inches (1.2 mm) Number of coats Apply two single coats or one uniform cross-coat to achieve a dry film thickness of 25 75 micron ( m) or 1.0 3.0 mils. Apply sufficient topcoat to ensure complete hiding of the primer. Page 3 of 6

Hiding Some colors may require a higher film thickness to achieve full hide. Cleaning of Equipment Use TR-15, TR-19, C28/15 or cleaning solvent 98068 for clean up of electrostatic equipment and/or other spray equipment. Because Aerodur 3001 is a fast drying basecoat, it is important to clean the equipment as soon as possible after completion of the job.
