Accident Protection Greater financial certainty for you and your family Redrawn by Lobianco Studios - 8/98

Accident Protection If you are asking yourself... How can I make sure my family are financially secure if I have an accident and can t work? MetLife s Accident Protection will pay out a tax-free cash sum to you for a range of specified accidental injuries from the less serious like breaking an arm to being blinded or even accidental death. How much is paid will of course depend on the severity of your injury. How you use the money is completely up to you. How do I know MetLife will pay out if I need to claim? MetLife is one of the world s leading insurance providers. With 90 million customers in over 40 countries worldwide you can rely on our financial strength and global stability. We re proud of our numerous service awards and we are committed to making a difference to all our customers. I m a nurse and I really worry about money. If I get a bad infection like Hepatitis C and can t work, how will I make ends meet? MetLife s Accident Protection has the option of adding a Health Care benefit which is available only to UK clinical health care workers. It can pay out a cash lump sum if you contract a specified infection from work such as TB, HIV or Septicaemia caused by MRSA. A friend of mine had a bad car accident and was paralysed and it made me think, if that happened to me how would I cope financially? MetLife s Accident Protection would pay you a cash lump sum of up to 250,000 for permanent disability, which would help you get the support you needed and manage the cost of living.

Accident Protection 1 What is Accident Protection and why do I need it? What is Accident Protection? Have you ever thought about how you would pay your bills and look after your family if you had an accident and were badly injured? Accident Protection is specifically designed to give you financial support by providing a cash lump sum if you were to suffer from a specified accidental injury.* Why do I need it? It s only natural to think it won t happen to me, but Accident Protection can give you and your family peace of mind and greater financial certainty. The Government could help you with financial support of course, but it might not cover everything most families need. Did you know? There are 11,000 deaths from accidental injury each year**, 171 at work 200,000 people reported injuries that resulted in more than three days off work 137,264 children under 18 were admitted to hospital due to injury MetLife s Accident Protection offers you and your family greater financial certainty Our Accident Protection will pay you a tax-free cash lump sum up to 250,000, depending on the injury and benefit level you choose. We provide cover for: Accidental broken bones Hospitalisation due to accident or sickness (cover due to sickness starts once you ve had your policy for 12 months) Accidental permanent injuries Accidental total permanent disablement; and Accidental death (this may be subject to inheritance tax).
