Alhambra High School Leadership Class Application 2012-2013 Before you start your application Thank you for your interest in becoming a part of Alhambra High School s Leadership program. Leadership is one of the essential components of this school, and it s responsibilities range from organizing dances, rallies, spirit days, and community service projects, to representing the students of Alhambra at large and ensuring that decisions made by the staff or the administration are in their best interests. The Leadership program requires a person who is responsible, resourceful, and perhaps most important, self-motivated. The following application is one way we determine which applicants would be best suited for Leadership. The information on this application in particular your answers to the questions on the following pages will be combined with your grade point average, your school attendance, and teacher recommendations to rank you with all other applicants. The top applicants will be accepted into Leadership, space permitting. This application is due February 24, 2012 to D-105 (the leadership room). Position Requirements As a member of AHS Leadership, I acknowledge that I must participate and/or attend certain Leadership sponsored functions. These include: All Leadership retreats All House of Representatives meetings All Leadership school functions (dances, rallies) School-wide or Leadership specific spirit days Exceptions can be made at the discretion of the ASB President or Student Activities Director. I understand that I must have and maintain at least a 2.0 Grade Point Average while in Leadership, and I must refrain from using or being under the influence of any drugs or alcohol (as per Board policy) while participating in school or Leadership events. Failure to do so will result in removal from the Leadership program and possible disciplinary action. By signing below, I indicate that I have read and agreed to the stipulations above. Short Answer Questions - Please answer these questions so that we might get a better impression of you. Please write neatly. You may type the answers to these questions if you would like, and attach the answers. Please do not handwrite your answers on a separate piece of paper. Just be yourself! 1. Why would you like to be a part of the Leadership program? 2. In Leadership, there will be times when you will have to work with others, and times when you will work independently. Which do you prefer? Why? 3. List and describe the 2 most important activities that you are involved in at Alhambra (can include: attending sporting events, drama productions, dances, participating in lunchtime activities, participating in sports, etc.). 4. Interpret the quote, Attitude reflects leadership. Remember, there are no wrong answers!

5. What activities, if any, do you enjoy being involved in outside of school? (church, club sports, drama productions, music, etc.) This question will not count against you but it will help us get to know more about you and how you will fit into our program. 6. Is there anything else that you would like to tell us that you did not get a chance to include anywhere else in this application? This question is optional; a lack of an answer will not count against you. Please print your name and sign here to indicate that you have read and answered these questions: Applicant s name (print) Signature Thank you for filling out this application. Remember to have it turned in to D-105 by February 24 2012
