Patient Portal This is direct link between the physician and the patient. The provider has very granular control over what the patient accesses through the patient portal. The patient can access his/her medical records including lab results and prescriptions; view demographics, insurance and other information and submit changes; view eligibility and copay verification; fill out all forms beforehand, sign and submit; request appointments, and make payments, either online or through a kiosk set up at the providers office. A patient can view Accounts, Ledgers and Statements. The patient portal also includes a mailbox for direct communication to request referrals, ask for prescription refills or clarifications. The patient can submit this information via the patient portal which will arrive directly to the EMR for provider's validation.
