Galileo Desktop 2.4 Automated Installer Welcome to the Galileo Southern Africa Galileo Desktop 2.4 Installer! The new installer has been updated and improved considerably. it supports a new tabbed look and has been even more automated, it includes a GPM Config tool to assist installing Galileo Print manager software and configure your print devices. Please take time to read trough the provided help file and documentation, although the installer requires less help, you will be able to use the installer much more effectively once you have gone through all the functionality. Additionally a Connection test tool is available and a SSL status information page, please use these tabs to troubleshoot before calling the helpdesk Please be ensured the best effort has been put into the installer and all the components, you should hopefully have a trouble free installation if the basic rules are followed. Please ensure the following is done before attempting the installation: 1. Ensure you have a working Internet connection and you can connect, browse, read email and so on. 2. Ensure your anti virus software is installed and up to date, no or old anti virus software loaded is a sure sign you will have problems, this is to prevent problems running the software, it is advisable and recommended to disable your anti virus software while running the installer, if you experience any problems please do NOT remove your anti virus software 3. Use the Connection Test to Ensure your Firewall is not blocking the application, if you get a failed connection, you may need to consult your IT department Page 1
You may need to run the Installer as Administrator if you are running Windows 7. (Right Click on the program, then select run as Administrator) if you have any issues. Desktop 2.4 setup Select SSL or Standard (Agency) according to your configuration, if installed, your default Galileo Configuration will be displayed. If not, please type in your provided ClientID and then click on the Save button Select the Software you need to install here, note the SSL version displayed here may not be the current release, please go the the following site to check for updates: http://mamba.galileosa.co.za Attempt to do the Automatic (recommended) installation, if you experience any problem, use the Manual (Advanced) option to install the software Page 2
The software here is for Agency use and is not intended for general use, you will need a password to install F-Secure GPM Config The GPM Config Tool has been updated. Please refer to the extensive GPM Documentation on how it works, a brief look at the different panels appears below Page 3
Delete All will delete all the existing GPM devices, then select your required devices from the drop down box and then click Create all to create the new devices. e.g If you only have a single Itinerary Printer to install you will need to change all the other unused devices to Not Used Type in your provided GTID'S, then click Save to have them available. To use the De-Link All and Link All button (you need to be signed into Galileo Desktop) Type in your GTIDs into the boxes provided and Save for later easy recall Use the Link Button if you are installing single devices Use the Checkboxes for Multiple (3) items together SSL Aid This section will detect the SSL configuration status, version and determine if the service has started up. PC Audit Galileo Desktop 2.4 Installer Introduction The PC Audit page has been provided to assist you with providing information to the Galileo Southern Africa Helpdesk, The Scan Devices button scans your workstation for Software and hardware information, the Save audit allow you to save the data collected in a file. The Email Audit button allow you to transmit the results of the audit to the Galileo technical support. Please be ensured that all the information collected here can be viewed by viewing the text file on your desktop. This information will not be used in any other manner then Galileo support and will not be transmitted to any other third party. Page 6
