Student exchange What? You conduct course work or research A valid exchange agreement with host university must exist for PhD level. You can go on exchange several times but minimum 90 days each time and maximum 360 days in total. Individual scholarship paid directly to you to help cover additional costs arising due to the exchange. Approx. 315-375 EUR per month.
How? Start a minimum of 6-12 months in advance! Student exchange 1. Talk to your supervisor. Would it work? What about your financing? 2. Talk to the international coordinator at your department. - Are there any already existing exchange agreements that you can use? - Would it be possible to arrange a new agreement? The head of the department and the international coordinator decides. - You and/or international coordinator makes arrangements with host university. 3. Apply/Follow instructions of host university. 4. Apply for Scholarship from International Office Scholarship application open: May 1-June 15 (studies in autumn) November 1 November 30 (studies in spring)
Traineeship What? You work and/or conduct research. Can only be with a company or organisation. Cannot be a university that holds an Erasmus Charter! You have to arrange your own traineeship. You can apply for Erasmus Traineeship multiple times but minimum 60 days each time and maximum 180 days each time (360 days in total). Individual scholarship paid directly to you to help cover additional costs arising due to the traineeship. Approx. 465-525 EUR per month. Limited funds for scholarships. First come, first served.

Teaching assignment What? You hold guest lectures and/or seminars at a partner university. A valid exchange agreement with host university for the exchange of teachers must exist. Be prepared to make your own arrangements. Minimum 2 days (8 hours of teaching) excluding travel. Maximum 60 days (approx 4 hours of teaching every day). You can apply for Erasmus Teaching assignment multiple times á year but funds may be limited towards the end of the academic year. The scholarships are based on the distance to the host university and the number of teaching and travel days. It is a fixed amount given to the department to cover their costs for your travel, hotel and per diem. It will not be payed to you.

What? Technical and Administrative Staff training You attend a training course or shadow a colleague who is working with the same things you are working with. Note! Cannot be research. Has to be administratation or technical skills (such as language course, or software skills). Can be at a university, an organisation or an enterprise. Be prepared to make your own arrangements. Minimum 2 days full time (excluding travel). Maximum 60 days full time. You can apply for Erasmus training once every year. Funds may be limited towards the end of the academic year. The scholarships are based on number of training and travel days. It is a fixed amount given to the department to cover their costs for your travel, hotel and per diem. It will not be payed to you. It will probably not cover course costs.

Student traineeship Students admitted to research studies / PhD studies. Traineeship can take place 1 year after completed studies if application is done before graduation.
Teaching assignment All teaching employees of Uppsala University. Staff training All employees of Uppsala University. Who can apply? It is possible to collaborate and go several people at the same time, either from the same department or from different departments. Prior approval from supervisor (and in some cases Head of Department) is crucial!
