Lime is experiencing a renaissance due to the modern methods of production that have erased the common perception that it is an archaic process. Within the next few page we hope to show you how our lime products can be used together with modern day type C waterproofing systems for work in basements, cellars & Under street vaults of Listed buildings and to create a traditional aesthetics even in areas that suffer from high hydrostatic water.

Traditional aesthetic created with natural minerals By combining the unique performance of Cavity Drain Membrane with Unilit natural hydraulic lime renders and plasters Telling Lime Products have created a system that has the possibilities of recreating traditional aesthetics with the controlling water ingress under hydrostatic pressure. The primary function of the system is to provide protection of the inhabitants form the effects of flooding in today s rapidly changing climate, as it must also: Create an internal environment that is healthy, air and watertight Meet ever improving standards of performance Offer a pleasing architectural aesthetic within its environment Be made from a sustainable and recycled source Contribute to targets for carbon neutrality Be compatible with modern methods of construction Comply with current national building codes

Cavity Drainage System The cavity drainage system uses a high density plastic studded membrane that acts as a lining to the walls, and floors. The membrane has a cavity that forms an air gap behind the membrane this allows for the free movement of water which is collected in to a perimeter drain, this is then channelled into a sump pump allowing the evacuation of the water to suitable drainage outside the building. The cavity membrane comes with or without a thermally bonded mesh depending on the application required. When Lime Plaster is required over MESHED Cavity Membrane Unilit K2 is recommended to provide a guaranteed bond, Fixings are as per Cavity membrane manufacturer s recommendations.

Unilit K2 Lime Bonding Coat & Fibre Mesh Application: MESHED Cavity Membrane Unilit K2 Unilit K2 is suitable for application over MESHED Cavity Membrane it is used as a lime bonding coat to provide an optimum bonding bridge between the MESHED Cavity Membrane the following coats of Telling Medium, Unilit 35, or site mixed Fen XA and sand. The Unilit K2 is pushed through the mesh with all dimples filled with 5mm over the face of the mesh it will ensure the adhesion to the membrane and give the ideal surface for the following Unilit plasters. Telling Fibre Mesh The Telling Fibre Mesh is recommended to reinforce over junctions in the background. Telling Corner Bead (3707) Telling Corner Bead (3707) with glass fibre mesh for embedding in the Unilit lime plaster forming reinforcement to edges.

Unilit Lime Plaster system over Cavity Membrane UNILIT NHL LIME RENDER & PLASTER APPLIED TO OVER MESHED CAVITY MEMBRANE Basecoat: Unilit K2 Basecoat Thickness: Unilit K2: 4 5mm nominal thickness from face of cavity membrane mesh + material behind mesh Basecoat Application: Mix Unilit K2 with clean water - 4.5 to 5.25 litres of water to 30kg of powder depending on the temperature and substrate. Mixing is undertaken with a slow speed electric paddle for a period of 3 to 5 minutes. Depending on thickness and any levelling out required apply keying, priming or levelling coat of Unilit K2 in a nominal 4 5mm layer (maximum 8 mm layer) by Steel trowel, and bring to a level surface with a rule and float. Glass Fibre Mesh Following the application of the base coat a glass fibre mesh is embedded within the base coat (position 2/3 of the thickness away from the substrate) to cover the complete surface. Successive sheets of glass fibre mesh should overlap by at least 100 mm. Additional mesh reinforcement is required around all openings, across zones where suspended floors intersect walls and where panels are applied over different substrates, along continuous straight panel joints and over repaired areas

Telling Brick Mesh Render carrier for vaults Application over Clear cavity membrane in vaults and other areas Brick Mesh can be applied over clear Cavity membranes fix in to the heads of the brick plug fixings with a stainless screw and washer. This provide a render carrier which prevents the plaster being fully bonded to the membrane like meshed membrane, therefore allowing any retro repair to plugs etc. to be carried out without damaging the cavity membrane waterproofing integrity. Brick Mesh can be applied to areas such as Vaults and other areas currently difficult to waterproof with Meshed cavity membrane. When Brick Mesh is plastered with Unilit 20 or 30 the system can provide either an Insulated or secondary waterproof coat providing a second layer of protection to the full system. Standard plasters can also be applied to areas such as Vaults and other areas currently difficult to waterproof with Meshed cavity membrane. Brick Mesh Superficial reinforcement is a stainless steel wire coated with nodules of clay to ensure fusion of lime to the natural mineral. Substrates that are cracked or suffering from high levels of movement are popular for is a cost effective method of use. Brick Mesh comes on a 6m x 1m
