Configuration support changes Operating System Support Infor BI for Lawson now supports Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2. JTs Customers can use Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 as their operation system for Infor BI for Lawson. Infor BI for Lawson Installation Guide Database Support Infor BI for Lawson now supports Microsoft SQL Server 2014. JTs Customers may now use Microsoft SQL Server 2014 as their Infor BI for Lawson database. Infor BI for Lawson Installation Guide Desktop PC support Infor BI for Lawson now supports Microsoft Windows 8.1. JTs Customers may now use Microsoft Windows 8.1 for end users. WebSphere Application Server 7.0 Infor Lawson BI no longer supports WebSphere Application Server 7.0. JTs Customers using WebSphere Application Server 7.0 must now use WebSphere Application Server 8.5 with minimum fix pack 5 as their application server. Infor BI for Lawson Installation Guide Infor Lawson Framework Services JTs System/User Settings Audit (FISMA-related feature) System/User Settings Audit is a logging capability of Framework Services which audits changes/deletions/additions on system/user settings, transfer of ownership, or sharing. Users can now adjust the System/User Settings Audit to capture changes to the system and user settings. Infor Lawson Framework Services Administrator and User Guide Central Device Management The Central Device Management page shows a list of all devices and enables administrators to edit or delete them, or to create a new device. Administrators can also create a new device to be added simultaneously to Framework Services, Reporting Services and Smart Notification. Multiple devices on the applications can also be deleted at the same time. JTs Users can now configure devices used in Framework Services, Reporting Service, and Smart Notification by using the Central Device Management page. JTs Dashboard banner Framework Services now includes the functionality to display or hide the Infor banner. Customers can now toggle the dashboard banner to display or hide as needed. Infor Lawson Framework Services Administrator and User Guide Infor Lawson Reporting Services Exporting rights files Users can now export rights information that can be used in another instance of Reporting Services or other Lawson systems. Importing rights Users can now import rights information in two ways: File import JNDI mapping Previously, rights files could only be imported in CSV format. Now, users can also import files in XML and JSON format. Users can also provide a JNDI resource to connect to and query to receive the rights to import. JTs Users have additional ways to import rights information into Reporting Services. Infor Lawson Reporting Services Administrator and User Guide JTs Extended Schedule Options for creating a report schedule Users can now choose to use Extended Schedule Options to run reports based on a calendar interval trigger. Options include hourly, bi-weekly, and monthly scheduling. Users can use a calendar interval trigger to run reports. Infor Lawson Reporting Services Administrator and User Guide JTs Run Immediate option after creating a report schedule After creating and saving a report schedule, users can now select a Run Immediate option to process a report at once. The feature does not trigger or change the schedule that was created. Users can now run and process a report at once without changing the report s schedule. Configuration support changes System Configuration Settings Previously, system configuration settings resided in the sysconfig.xml file. Beginning with Infor BI for Lawson 10.5.0.0, system configuration settings reside in the database. Customers will use the System Configuration Settings to make changes to Infor BI for Lawson configuration. Customers will no longer use the sysconfig.xml file to make these changes. After upgrading to 10.5.0.0, the sysconfig.xml file will be backed-up and renamed to syscfg.bak for both Frameworks Services and Smart Notification. Note: Infor recommends you move this file to a secure location outside the installation directory as it may contain user and password information. JTs Infor BI for Lawson Installation Guide Infor Application Studio and Infor BI Dashboards now included Introductory licenses of the Infor Application Studio and Infor BI Dashboards products are now included with Infor BI for Lawson packaging. Customers have additional BI tools available for their use. These products are delivered as a separate install. Note: There is currently no integration of LBI and BI Dashboards. Framework Services has a service to render Application Studio reports in a Dashboard. Database Support Infor BI for Lawson now supports Oracle Database 12c. JTs Customers may now use Oracle 12c as their Infor BI for Lawson database. Customers may manually select expired users and roles for deletion and select which user to transfer ownership of content to. JTs Rights Administration Infor Lawson Framework Services now has a new service that allows customers to set up navigation to the new Rights Management forms. Customers can navigate to the Rights Management forms from the Tools dashboard in Framework Services. Infor Lawson Framework Services Administrator and User Guide Infor Lawson Reporting Services Rights Administrator role A Rights Administrator role has been added for Infor Lawson Reporting Services. Customers may assign a Reporting Services Rights Administrator role, which is responsible for managing bursting rights. JTs Customers may use Microsoft Internet Explorer 11.0 for Lawson Business Intelligence. Infor BI for Lawson Installation Guide Apache Tomcat Application Server 7.0 JTs Infor Lawson BI no longer supports Apache Tomcat application server. Customers using Tomcat in their test environments must use WebSphere as their application server. Infor BI for Lawson Installation Guide Infor Lawson Reporting Services Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) Infor Lawson Reporting Services now supports the use of Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP). Customers may now choose to enable or disable the SFTP when publishing BackOffice reports. PTs To use this feature, SFTP must to be enabled on the Infor Lawson System Foundation/BackOffice server. Configuration support changes JTs WebSphere Application Server Infor Lawson BI now supports WebSphere Application Server 8.5 with minimum fix pack 5. Customers who use WebSphere Application Server 8.5 as their application server, must apply fix pack 5 prior to Infor Lawson BI installation. Infor Lawson BI Installation Guide JTs Infor ViewPoint As of Infor Lawson BI 10.3, ION Application Studio 10.4 will replace Infor ViewPoint as the Infor tool for analytics solutions. Customers can still use Infor ViewPoint with Infor Lawson BI 10.2.x and lower. Additionally, customers can use Application Studio, Infor s multisource OLAP and relational reporting solution. Infor ViewPoint Guide Installation and Configuration Guide JTs Lawson Budgeting and Planning As of Infor Lawson BI 10.3, Infor Corporate Performance Management (CPM) 10.4 replaces the Lawson Budgeting and Planning (LBP). Customers can still use Lawson Budgeting and Planning with Infor Lawson BI 10.2.x and lower. Additionally, customers can use Infor Corporate Performance Management (CPM). Framework Services Application Studio Infor Lawson BI now supports Application Studio. Customers can register Application Studio as a new application in Framework Services. Customers who use Application Studio can now render Application Studio reports on Framework Services dashboards. Note: Single Sign-on is only supported between Infor Lawson BI and Application Studio when Application Studio is using Windows authentication. JTs See Framework Services Administrator and User Guide for information on Rendering Application Studio reports. Reporting Services Lawson Smart Reports Infor Lawson BI now supports the use of Lawson Smart Reports in Reporting Services and provides the bursting capability for Lawson Smart Reports. Lawson Smart Reports (LSR) is a feature that allows users to generate reports with enhanced output by utilizing page breaks, frames, and graphics. Customers can configure LSR to work with Reporting Services. PTs Reporting Services provides the bursting capability by using the rights on top of Lawson Smart Reports. Note: For Infor Lawson customers using Lawson Smart Reports, you must have the latest version (including patches) of Infor Lawson System Foundation 10.0.4.x and ensure that LSR is enabled. Network Drive Support Infor Lawson BI now supports delivery of Reporting Services reports to network drive locations. Customers can now deliver a specific Reporting Services report to a shared network drive location. This functionality will allow organizations to deliver and manage report documents on shared network drive locations. Note: Reports will also be delivered to the Lawson directory. JTs See Framework Services Administrator and User Guide for information on creating and maintaining a device type and the Reporting Services Administrator and User Guide Smart Notification Improved memory allocation Previously, when a notification owner launched Smart Notification, the application loaded into memory the owner s alerts along with all the alert details. This may have caused a large memory utilization of JVM that resulted in out of memory errors. With Infor Lawson BI 10.3, many unnecessary cached object definitions are no longer stored upfront in the memory allocation. Important: For upgrading customers, Infor recommends that you install and test the new version of Crystal Report Server in a test environment prior to installing the Infor Lawson BI upgrade in production to ensure all reports function as designed. Apache Tomcat Application Server 7.0 Infor Lawson BI now supports Apache Tomcat application server. Customers can now use Apache Tomcat 7.0.19 as their application server. Customers can use the Tomcat server bundled with the Infor Lawson BI installation program. Note: Infor recommends that customers use the Tomcat application server for test environments only. Tomcat is not for use with Lawson Single Signon integration. JTs Infor Lawson BI Installation Guide Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 Infor Lawson BI no longer supports Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0. Language support Infor Lawson BI supports Brazilian Portuguese. Customers may use Brazilian Portuguese as their language for Infor Lawson BI. Database changes Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Infor Lawson BI now supports Microsoft SQL Server 2012. JTs Customers can now use Microsoft SQL Server 2012 as their database server for Infor Lawson BI. Infor Lawson BI Installation Guide Framework Services changes JTs Dashboard Audit Dashboard auditing allows you to track what dashboards users are accessing. If auditing is enabled, Framework Services will automatically capture and log information to a database table called FS_AUDIT in the Framework Services database. Customers can use information from Dashboard Auditing to monitor what Framework Services content users access and the frequency of that access. Admin Reports Use Admin Reports to audit activity and content for Framework Services, Reporting Services, and Smart Notification. Download the zip file containing the reports from the Product Download page. The reports contained in the zip file are intended to be used with the Infor Lawson BI 10.2.0.0 release and higher. Customers can use information from the reports to audit activity and frequency of use for Framework Services, Reporting Services, and Smart Notification. Note: Infor recommends that you make a local copy of any report that you publish since these reports could be updated in the future. Configuration Support Changes Web browser Lawson Business Intelligence supports Firefox 8.0 and 9.0. Customers may use Firefox 8.0 and 9.0 for Lawson Business Intelligence. PTs To use Firefox for LBI, customers will need to adjust the settings. In the Firefox browser, navigate to Tools > Options > Content > Advanced > Enable Raise or lower windows. Note: Firefox has its own language settings that is separate from the Windows Region and Language Settings. If you plan to use Firefox combined with Arabic, you will need to add Arabic to your list of preferred languages in the Firefox browser and move it to the top of the list. Smart Notification Smart Notification Content Security using Reporting Services Rights definitions Customers will be able to secure content in InfoSets against the Reporting Structures defined in Reporting Services. Any alert that is rendered against an InfoSet with a Reporting Services structure association will use the Rights for the requesting user to secure the InfoSet Content. Customers can apply Reporting Services Structures against previously defined or newly added InfoSets. The current Alert Filtering is still supported.
