This notice applies to all copyrighted materials included with this product, including, but not limited to, this manual and software embodied within the product. WARNING, CAUTION, and NOTE Statements WARNING, CAUTION, and Note statements are used throughout this manual to emphasize important and critical information. You must read these statements to help ensure safety and to prevent product damage. The statements are defined below. WARNING WARNING indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury. CAUTION CAUTION indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in minor or moderate injury. It may also be used to alert against unsafe practices. WARNING This manual instructs you how to use a Telemotive MLTX, SLTX and Pendant battery charger. If you disregard the instructions, information, and/or warranty in the manual, you could be assuming responsibility for damages, costs, or injury incurred by such disregard. Do not touch any circuit components on the circuit board while the main AC or DC power is on. Do not make any changes in the charger without first contacting Magnetek. Note: A note statement is used to notify users of installation, operation, programming, or maintenance information that is important, but not hazard related. 3

CAUTIONS Use of these devices is intended for charging BT114 0, BT115 0, BT122 0, BT123 0 and BT10KP 1 rechargeable batteries only. See next page for applicable charger and battery. Do not attempt to use these products on non rechargeable battery packs (i.e. BT113 0, BT120, BT10KP 0). Do not expose batteries to excessive heat or fire. They could explode and cause serious personal injury. Do not charge or operate in a hazardous environment. Do not short circuit battery or charger. Do not attempt to charge a damaged battery. Do not attempt to open the battery pack. The charger unit is not intended for outdoor use. Use only indoors. Keep the battery pack environment cool during charging operation and storage, (i.e., not in direct sunlight or close to a heating source). Always dispose of used batteries per appropriate regulations. General Suggestions: For the longest battery life, rechargeable batteries should be recharged at least every 6 months even if they are in storage. For best performance of the battery, avoid charging the battery pack for more than 24 hours at a time. Failure to do this may negatively impact battery life. Please familiarize yourself with the instructions before attempting to use. Recharging a battery only after it is fully discharged will prolong its life. Avoid recharging battery when fully or near fully charged. 4
