SHS CURRICULUM (GRADE 11 AND 12) *The Academic track includes four (4) strands: Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM); General Academic; Humanities and Social Science (HUMSS); and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

WHO MAY SIGNIFY THEIR INTENTION TO OFFER SHS? (DEPED MEMORANDUM NO. 4, S. 2104) Category A a. Recognized private schools offering years I-IV b. Federation of Accrediting Agencies in the Philippines (FAAP) Accredited private schools, Level II Category B a. Non-DepEd schools with TESDA permit/recognition and/or CHED permit/recognition b. FAAP Accredited Non-DepEd schools, Level II Category C a. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recognized individuals, corporations, foundations or organizations

Important Note: Those who are interested to offer the SHS program prior to SY 2016-2017 and who fall within category A, B or C may express their intent through submission of ALL requirements on August 30 of the year preceding the school year of their intended operation.

PROCESS FLOW Application to be evaluated by the SHS National Task Force under the Office of the USec for Programs and Projects On-site evaluation may be deputized by the SHS-NTF to the Regional Office SHS-NTF will endorse to the DepEd Secretary the results of the evaluation Qualified applicants will be issued provisional permit signed by the DepEd Secretary through the Regional Director Permit will be valid until formally revoked by DepEd

CONT. ROs and SDOs will monitor and evaluate the initial implementation. Based on recommendation, SHS-NTF will endorse the issuance of a Certificate of Recognition (CoR) of the SHS Program to qualified schools. CoR will be signed by the Secretary and issued by the RO and shall remain valid provided the requirements of the law, and DepED rules and standards are satisfied.

Category A DOCUMENTARY REQUIREMENTS FOR NON-DEPED SCHOOLS FOR THE SY 2016-2017 AND ONWARDS Board resolution certified by the Board Chairperson or SH indicating the purpose, SY of intended operation, and the SHS Curriculum, or tracks and strands to be offered Copy of CoR for the secondary education program or training program or higher education program and, if applicable, Certificate of Accreditation from FAAP-recognized accrediting agency or by the Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC)

CRITERIA TO CONSIDER IN OFFERING SHS COURSES IN THE LOCALITY Availability of Resources of schools to offer SHS courses Teachers qualifications Lecture/Workshop Rooms Tools and Equipment Needs of the community Availability of industries within the locality that are potential venue for work in-demand jobs in the locality

CON T In-demand and emerging industries in the locality/region DOLE 20/20 vision and other related existing survey results Interest of the Learners Course offerings of the schools based on survey results Learners were given options to choose from based on the capability of the school

Projected Benefits of the SHS Program 1. Academic Track in Grades 11 & 12 will help prepare SHS graduates for college 2. Technical-Vocational Livelihood (TVL) track will be equipped with skills that will eventually lead to their employment in varied techvoc courses 3. Immediate employment to TVL graduates after graduation due to varied National Certifications that they may hold 4. SHS graduates under the Sports and Arts and Design tracks will be equipped with foundational knowledge that may lead to future careers in sports as coach/trainer or in varied arts and design professions.
