LG VS410PP SOFTWARE UPDATE Disclaimer: Actual network speeds depend on network availability, coverage levels, tasks, file characteristics, applications and other factors. Performance may be impacted by transmission limitations, terrain, in-building/in-vehicle use and capacity constraints. Preparation 1. Fully charge the battery. 2. Save any important data before updating the software on your device. Any data not saved on a micro SD card or PC may be erased; i.e. contacts, images, etc. To backup your data, connect your phone to a PC via the USB cable. After connecting, select Mass storage mode on your phone. Copy personal folders to your PC, i.e. DCIM (photos, videos), Downloads, Music, etc. You may also download a third party backup solution using the Play store on your device. 3. Remove the micro SD memory card. 4. Close all open applications on your computer before proceeding with the update. Note: Calling and messaging functions are not available during the update process. The entire upgrade process varies depending on software package size, internet connection speed, and PC configuration. The handset will go through various states throughout the update process. The tool will notify you when the update is complete. SECTION ONE - Ensure Your Driver is Up to Date Download and install the latest driver listed below before connecting to your PC. SECTION TWO - Restart Your Computer Make sure to bookmark this page. When you restart your computer, click on your bookmark to return to
this page and install the LG Mobile Support Tool. SECTION THREE - Install the LG Mobile Support Tool The LG Mobile Support Tool will easily help you update the software for your device. Please select Run when prompted. LG Mobile Support Tool Windows XP, Vista, Win7, and Win8 See PC Requirements b elow. SECTION FOUR - Connect Device and Start Update 1. Connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable included with your device. Note: Ensure the tool shows Model VS410PP and Version VS410PP1. If not, disconnect and reconnect the USB cable or restart the tool. 2. Click Start Updating within the LG Mobile Support Tool to begin. The device will progress through Analysis, Download, Update and Complete during the update process.
3. When upgrade is complete, your device will restart automatically. Select Exit to complete the software update. Note: After exiting from the software update screen, Version: VS410PP2 should be displayed in the update tool. If the software version displayed is VS410PP1 or below; disconnect/reconnect your device to the computer. If your software version is still VS410PP1 or below, repeat the software update steps. Troubleshooting If the phone software upgrade stopped before completion, please don't close the update tool and try to update again following original instructions. If you closed the update tool already and the phone will not turn on normally, please follow the below steps 1. Remove back cover and battery. 2. Record IMEI/ESN/MEID from device label in battery well. 3. Replace battery and back cover. 4. Open LG Mobile Support Tool. 5. Connect the device to PC via USB Cable.
6. From the menu select Customer Support > Recovery Phone. 7. Input the IMEI/ESN/MEID and click Check. 8. After checking the phone information, it will start to update automatically. If it does not work the device may require service to attempt recovery.
