PHYSICIAN Instructions Paragon s WebStation for Physicians Login with your assigned individual User Name and Password. At the home screen, Set Criteria for Searching for patients: If you do not have your own individually assigned user name and password OR cannot remember your sign-on, contact the Help Desk at 845-334-2800 or email: help@hahv.org If you are not logging in at the hospital using a hospital computer, your computer device must have Citrix installed in order for you to access WorkStation for Physicians. Navigate to http://home.hahv.org for further information and instructions. 1. Go to Advanced Tab then set the following as your search criteria 2. Patients = All Patients 1
3. Type = Current (this equals all currently admitted patients) 4. Facility = ALL (to see all 3 facilities otherwise just select the one hospital you want to look at) 5. Pt Type = ALL (to see specific types, such as inpatient, use drop down arrow to select) 6. Click SEARCH = once you hit search a list of all patients meeting the criteria you just set will appear at bottom of screen. Click SAVE to keep criteria settings 7. If you want to search by just a specific patient, you can type in the patient name under last name and first name criteria area. 8. Once you finish selecting all your criteria, click the SAVE button (above the Advanced tab) to save the criteria settings so it s all set for the next time you log on. Now select the patients you want to work with by clicking in the box next to the patient name, OR if you want to select ALL the patients at once, click the at the top of first column. After selecting the patient(s) you want to work with, click ADD TO WORKLIST tab above the Patient Name. 2
In the upper left corner of the screen, click on the drop down arrow to view the entire list of patients you selected for your Worklist and then scroll thru the list to choose a patient click on the patient name that you want to view in detail. Click YES on the message asking you to confirm you want to select that specific patient. Once the selected patient profile is loaded, the following areas should be available to you: 3
1. Orders 2. Results 3. Meds 4. CPOE 5. Deficiancies 6. Action List 7. Med Rec There will only be information in the Med Rec tab if a patient has been admitted and discharged through PARAGON. Any patient discharged prior to the Paragon go_live event of May 6, 2013 will NOT be seen in Med Rec These prior patients can still be viewed by using either Clinician Access or MedAllies systems. 8. CPOE (Placing Orders through CPOE) After selecting your patient from the upper left Worklist, click on the CPOE Tab. To place an order for the patient selected, click on the SEARCH tab (it will turn form blue to orange). In the Search box, type in what order you need and then press enter or click GO, and it will bring up a list of all orders that match the criteria you typed. You can also search by Order Sets click the drop down arrow next to the GO button and select a specific order set. You will then see all orders built under that order set. If unsure, keep default of all. 6
Click once on the correct order from the list and a detail screen will then open. 7
Fill in all pertinent details for the order. You MUST complete all areas that have a red * next to it or the system will not allow you to place the order. When done, click SUBMIT, and then you are ready to place the next order. To view orders already submitted (placed), click on the Order Queue tab. The Order Queue tab displays the orders for the current visit for the patient. It also displays orders for previous visits when the start date of the order is within 90 days of the current date. You use the Order Queue to submit orders added from the Search tab, place orders on hold, discontinue, resume, or renew orders as well as cancel order requests and reorder (copy forward) previous orders for the patient. You may define a relationship for Pharmacy medication orders (for example, medications to be administered simultaneously) and you may also view, acknowledge and/or sign medication alerts and co-sign orders for the selected patient from this tab. DEFICIANCIES and MED REC (see next page) SPECIAL NOTE for Med Rec: There will only be information in the Med Rec tab if a patient has been admitted and discharged through PARAGON. Viewing HPF (Horizon Patient Folder ) Documents from WebStation for Physicians When logged into WebStation for Physicians, the following tabs appear: Deficiencies (HPF) From this tab, physicians can view their HPF deficiency Worklist and complete their deficiencies. Assignments From this tab, physicians can view their HPF assignment Worklist and process various requests/tasks related to transcriptions. Med Rec View From this tab, physicians can access the patient's electronic medical record as stored in the HPF database. 10
From the CENSUS tab, at the bottom of the screen, you can Print Rounding list. You can also quickly print Face Sheet from this tab as well. To quickly select another patient from your Worklist, click on either the left or right blue arrow next to the patient name and click yes to confirm your selection. To find a new patient that is not listed in your current Work List view, scroll to the top of your patient list and click on the top blank (white) box (shown in blue below). Click yes to confirm that no patient has been selected. It will bring you back to the home page for you to perform a new search to find a new patient(s), and again, then click Add to Worklist to view details. 11
LOGGING OFF & ON-LINE HELP When finished using Workstation for Physician application, you must exit the session by clicking once on the black X in the upper right corner (next to the small yellow lock). Click on the? to get help with using a specific area Click X to Exit Hover your mouse over this icon to view the current user signed on to the application. Hover your mouse over this icon to view the current environment and software version. Click this icon to open the Patient Banner Display Settings dialog box where you can customize the patient banner data that displays. Click this icon to refresh the patient banner data. Click this icon to open the main HELP for the application. Click this icon to secure the application.
